Hi All,
New here and new to sound in general.
Can anyone help with compatibility based on technical specifications?
I want to choose a sound system (something like lounge background music) for a small house. As the main device, I would like to try WiiM Amp + four speakers (but two is not enough). I saw a thread about the possibility of connecting four speakers - so I chose 8 ohm speakers, but that's where my capabilities and knowledge end.
Will they compatible whith WiiM Amp?
Many thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
Bobby

Welcome.

Simplistically:
The 8 ohm rating of those (or any) speaker is just a 'nominal' guide essentially saying they are not too power hungry.
The lower the number the bigger, beefier amp you need.

As you saw, Wiim have stated it's fine to connect 4* 8 ohm speakers in parallel to the wiim amp.
The amp has "advanced heat management" as per the post about 5 down from the one you linked to.
So while I won't categorically state this'll be fine, this'll be fine ;)

Mr Ee, thanks for the reply,
it seems like everything will be ok with Impedance, but let me point out other characteristics, the meaning of which I don't understand and I'm afraid of incompatibility with them (here is MASK4C Data Sheet). For example:
- in "Continuous Power Handling @ Nominal Impedance" item: 20V 50W @ 8Ω (200W peak) I don't understand what 20V means
- in "Recommended Amplifiers": 50W - 100W @ 8Ω (20V - 28V) - similarly, I'm confused by some values of voltage, while in the wiim amp specs I didn't find any mentions of voltage

I don't pretend to get a detailed answer on the basics of of voice acting (I don't want to take up a lot of time from anyone + there is a chance that I still won't understand anything) but I will be grateful if people with experience say that "yeah, man, don't worry - it will work" or "it would be better if you don't do that" :)
and yes - I also understand that perhaps there are parameters by which it is impossible to say in advance for sure whether there are any pitfalls or not, but in general, if an experienced eye doesn't see critical inconsistencies, then I will trust him :)

Assume you are running a test tone at a constant level, putting 100 watts into an 8 ohm load.

Since Power (P) = Voltage (E) squared / Impedance (Z)

E = square root (PZ) = sqrt(100 x 8) = 28 volts

So the max voltage allow is specified.
