Wiim Amp coming out of Standby during the night - has anyone else noticed this behavior?

Hi, I've had a my Amp a few weeks now in my bedroom & having been woken in the night a couple of times by a dodgy/painful shoulder issue that the Amp has woken itself up from standby (the room is lit up by the lights).

I'm assuming it goes back to sleep/standby after the default time (much like me :) ) seeing as it's not active the following morning, but has anyone else noticed this & does anyone know why?

Thanks

BTW Before you ask, the remote is nowhere near me so I'm not rolling onto it in my sleep.

It only checks for updates.

Is any physical input connected, so auto detection could kick in?

It’s the auto-sensing of line in that is bugging the system. I have it off as long as they don’t fix it in a software update.

Thanks for your feedback.

I have nothing connected other than the speakers, I use the Amp for streaming only at present.

Auto-sensing was already turned off, thanks IIija69.

It may well be an update check but I would have thought it could do this from it's "standby" state seeing as it maintains it's network presence.

I'm also using my WiiM Amp for streaming only, so far (attaching a USB thumb drive from time to time) but haven't seen the amp waking up by itself.

What's your current firmware version? Do you know how to determine the PCB version?

This seems to be related the auto input sensing, I disabled this as my phono pre-amp would randomly wake my WiiM Amp, seems fine now.

In this case it was not the WiiMs fault, but the phono stage's as it always seemed to broadcast a signal to the amp, even when that signal was silence.

I don't know if the WiiM will wake up while checking for updates, but it might be worth asking support.

Also, this may not be relevant to you, but if you use a smart home system such as Alexa, this could be a trigger. For example, if your Alexa routine includes a "stop music" action, it may launch the WiiM.

PS
Yes, I have seen the WiiM wake up in the midnight a few times.

I have the opposite experience, in that the AMP disappears from the network at night. The network is solid for all other devices I have connected to it. Pressing the Volume knob restores it. This has only occurred since F/W 5.0.614850 was installed. I am prepared to wait for the next f/w version (should be any day soon) to see if the problem persists. My AMP is an early version (PCB version 2), I have had no issues since I got it last December..

Thanks harkpabst, the firmware version is 5.0.614850 with a build date of 20240424.

I don't know how the check the PCB version? - Since discovered it's version 5

It was active again around 2:15 this morning.

Thanks Wiimer, I do have Alexa integrated however there's no routines related to music and nothing that should/would be running at that time of day.

Finaly it looks as it works for me.
Now it goes to standby efter 30 seconds if nothing is playing and stays there until I play music or watch 📺.

Must be the latest software update 🙂

30 seconds? Is that an old setting from before the latest WiiM Home app. 15 minutes is the new minimum.

To narrow down the cause, you may want to try sign out of Alexa in the WIIM app before you go to bed tonight.

I'll try it thanks, in fact I've not really used the feature since enabling it, so it's no great loss.

Now I'll just have to wait until I'm awake around that time to catch it (or not if it works).
