How do you measure separate channels? I don't see a specific setting for this. I tried RC today and got a result in stereo. Latest firmware, home app version 3.0.3

And these are from this morning after the newest update. I don’t use rc below 50Hz and I turn my sub off for the test. After I turn my sub on and ran the timing. Then I set the crossover to my sub at around 40-45Hz.

I noticed the top end open up and channel separation come a bit more alive. I’ll keep playing around with it. Good free software updates. Keep up the good work! Happy customer here!

The independent peq rc is sound much better than stereo rc providing much more cohesive and expanded soundstage.

If we knew what the bug was we could test the fix. Like I said I tried independent channel room correction with 3.0.2 and it worked.

I did not find any anomaly on first wondering what changed under the hood.

You might need to disable the subwoofer first with firmware 5.0.636939. The RC Wizard should ask you if you want to correct in stereo mode (default) or L/R mode during the process.

I have been able to save the L/R PEQ as one custom EQ in my amp and have tested it a bit.

So far it is working perfectly fine. This is really a great improvement.

I will try the L/R RC over the weekend.

Firmware 5.0.636939 and WHA 3.0.3 now and yes, saving independent L/R room correction to a single preset is working now.

However, I do experience quite a number of oddities.

In the Room Correction Settings the Subwoofer Calibration toggle switch is available even if the subwoofer output is disabled. Wouldn't it be less confusing if the option was greyed out then? Not so much of an issue and finally a matter of taste.


The Acoustic Measurement screen does not show the microphone in use when performing independent left/right correction. It does in stereo correction mode, though.


On the Results Overview page there is a button called Complete Correction. When pressed it seems to abort the process. Complete Correction sounds like it would actually save something without further ado, but it doesn't.


In roughly 13 out of 14 measurements the Final Assessment page did show the Target curve only, although sound has been played from the speakers and the correction has obviously been applied (as I could tell by the amount of bass). This came unexpected and isn't helpful, of course.


On the Save Your EQ page there's a button labelled Skip. It doesn't skip the save process, but just omits the step where you can select your own preset name now. Hitting Skip will actually save the EQ as either Auto_LR (independent channel RC) or Auto.


Let me end my post with something that works well. If the subwoofer output is enabled, the Welcome to Room Correction page now clearly states that only Stereo Room Correction is supported. For those who are new to this topic it might be helpful to explicitly add what is not supported (but can be had when the sub out is disabled).

Which one sound better to you individual or stereo rc?

Didn't compare yet. The measuring experience was so weird, I stuck with my manual REW based correction for now.

Also the mic in my brand new Poco X6 Pro seems to be totally unusable below 60 Hz. Not a WiiM issue, of course, but one reason why I noticed the absence of the mic name in L/R correction mode.

The Complete Correction button has always been there and has always been annoying. I don’t like that it’s included.

As @harkpabst may have already reported, I found two issues.

1) If I run RC with PEQ on, the test signal will reflect that EQ. Therefore I always need to turn off EQ before running RC.

2) Final Assessment shows only the yellow line of the target, not Actual.

Did you also try with the allegedly buggy firmware from a few days ago? I don't remember seeing an issue with the final assessment in that firmware. I only tried it once though.

I may not have received that version.


Are you saying that your remote is currently having no problems?

Could you share how you get usable PEQ filters for left/right channels including subwoofer with REW? When I tried aiming for flat response for both channels the result was too much bass. I am now considering adjusting the target curve for each channel to be 3dB lower below the sub crossover frequency.

You surely noted that I kept quiet about nthis topic for quite some time, despite your requests.

The simple reason is that I didn't find the time to fully analyse this setup in practice, even less come up with a realiably repeatable solution. There's a BK XLS200-FF sitting in my bedroom, but apart from some basic tests of the WiiM Amp's sub output it didn't get any use so far. I simply don't have much use for it in this setup, so I can't promise when time might allow further experiments.

There's also the WiiM Amp Pro in the living room waiting for further comparison including some measurements. Too many amps, too little time.
