WiiM Amp Firmware v5.0.735950 Update - Nov 18, 2025

5.0.735950 (In Progress)

Release date:

11 / 18 / 2025

What's New:
  1. Multi-Room: Enhanced Linkplay broadcast logic for stronger, more stable device connectivity.
  2. Smart DNS: Improved DNS validation for more reliable streaming.
  3. Streaming Protocols: Added on/off toggles for Squeezelite (LMS), Roon.
  4. Alarms: Custom labels and up to 32 alarms(requires the upcoming app update).
  5. Logitech Media Server (LMS): Disabled by default; enable in Device Settings in the WiiM Home app.
  6. TuneIn: Faster start when playing Apple Music stations.

Bug Fixes:
  1. Alarm: Corrected behavior in Daylight Saving Time zones.
  2. TuneIn: Now consistently selects the highest available stream quality.
  3. Sub Output: Fixed missing bass when the wireless WiiM Sub Pro was disconnected.
  4. Qobuz Connect:
    • Resolved a blocking issue that prevented playback.
    • Fixed a crash that could occur after seeking.
  5. Spotify: Fixed failures to play from the Spotify app's Recommended lists and Recently Played; also fixed presets that would not start playback.
  6. Amazon Music: Fixed occasional track skips after seeking and a progress bar desync (bar reached the end while audio continued).
  7. Multi-room: After ungrouping, metadata no longer syncs to previously grouped (child) speakers.
  8. Gapless Player: Fixed a near track end race condition that could trigger overlapping/simultaneous playback.
  9. Local Files: Fixed an issue where the app progress bar reached the end before playback finished.
  10. Playback:
    • Fixed playback issues affecting TuneIn Radio and certain FLAC files.
    • Corrected playback state display in certain cases.

@WiiM Support So could the bug fix 8 issue (Gapless Player) be causing an effect I've been blaming on IOS 26 where the next track starts half way through the previous one intermittently?

I should add I'm using the native Apple Music App on the phone, not WHA.

I’ve had this issue with the line in where, when playing records, the music gets cut off for about 2 seconds the comes back. Happens more often than I’d like. I started noticing this around March of this year. I have sent feedback a couple times. I received a response back asking me what level I set my external phono preamp at. That was a couple months ago but haven’t heard anything back since. Has anyone else experienced this with the line in? The other inputs don’t experience this kind of behavior.

That sounds like a totally different issue. What is the output level of yur phono preamp? Which settings did you chose for the ADC?

It's probably best to start a new troubleshooting thread for this, if you haven't done so already.

Hi,

I use and enjoy my WiiM devices running squeezelite client software connected to my NAS based Logitech Media Server.

I received the 5.0.735950 WiiM Amp update but am confused about the changelog NEW - 5) Logitech Media Server (LMS): Disabled by default; enable in Device Settings in the WiiM Home app.

Does this mean that WiiM amp is now actually running a full fledged LMS server on WiiM hardware?
I looked in device settings to enable LMS but only found a squeezelite On/Off setting.

Perhaps the changelog really means that squeezelite is now disabled by default and must be "manually" turned on?

Thanks for your input

It is just sloppy language from WiiM. I have no idea why they talk about Squeezelite in item 3 and LMS in item 5 🤷‍♂️

Hi I updated this firmware version to my WiiM Amp 2 days ago and now the HDMI Arc connection is not working anymore, somehow the update seems to have messed up with the controllers or something.

I have my WiiM amp ( 1st gen) connected to my Samsung Smart Tv and it was working seamlessly. I tried disconnecting HDMI cable, rebooting the WiiM, resetting the sound output on the Tv, but nothing happened @WiiM Support please help!

I guess the update hit me last night since my hdmi arc input is acting up.
At first the volume was going up and down by itself. Then the sound went out, the tv said there was communication errors and now auto sense won't work. I tried factory reseting each unit to no avail. The best result so far has been when I've unpugged everything from the tv and plugged a regular source into the arc port to reset the MCU and then plug in the wiim amp again. By then i had full controll again but when i restarted my tv it all began again. Right now im in a state where i can raise the volume but only lower it 2 or 3 steps and the osd for the volume won't show, but once i turn off and on my tv this whole circus begins again. My brother got a wiim amp ultra which he installed earlier today and is experiencing similar issues. I have a sony 55xh9005 and he a lg n95a(i think?), so the wiims are the only common factor.
