WiiM Amp Firmware v5.0.704151 Update - Jan 10, 2025

Just got this 👍. Nothing in it for me though 😃
Which version? I’m just installing version 5.0.704151, which is different to that in this thread title, although I imagine that it will be updated to reflect this different version.

Have you got the whitelisted Chromecast version?

Guess I’ll wait and see what I get then. Want to see how it handles multiple updates on the new firmware update page so might need to be patient…
Unless they arrive on the same day, can’t see it working. If you chose not to update the firmware, it will probably update itself overnight without any notification.🤔

@WiiM Team does this thread title need updating to reflect the actual version being received, 5.0.704151.

I have a different firmware version as well. It’s a higher number.

IIRC, WiiM Amp and WiiM Amp Pro are both still on the old Chromecast SDK. The WiiM Amp is for sure. No need for a whitelist version for any of those devices.

Not sure I’m understanding what it does - how often do you go thru setup, or is this a quicker way to change network?
Judging by the number of posts in this forum dealing with network setup some do it a lot more frequently than I do. ;)

The point is, that so far we did not have a controlled way to abort setup mode if it was initiated in error (or by the cat). Now we have and I like that a lot. :)

My next whish is a controlled way to cancel a factory reset initiated in error by those who've been trying to cancel setup mode. 😉 😜 :ROFLMAO:😁

Like keeping the button pressed for another 5 or 10 seconds.

Volume adjustment step - is only for remote control? What about TV remote via the HDMI ARC? 0-100 with step 1 is very uncomfortable to tap 100 times on tv remote!!!

I don’t see anything suggesting that it can control the steps on a non-WiiM remote.
