What are you playing? Are you using Replaygain? How loud is loud?Hi, I’m having some trouble with the Wiim Amp Ultra,
If I want a loud sound I have to turn everything to 100, and even though the sound is not that loud… my 20y old denon delivered much louder sound… what am I missing? Thanks
Whatever I play. Right now is a vinil record. It’s a 100. I ajusted the pregain to +10db. If it’s a zero it’s REALLY low !What are you playing? Are you using Replaygain? How loud is loud?
Is it similarly low playing from a streaming service? What speakers are you using?Whatever I play. Right now is a vinil record. It’s a 100. I ajusted the pregain to +10db. If it’s a zero it’s REALLY low !
Have you turned on the built in phono preamp on your turntable?Im listening to Spotify now, and at 50 is loud! I think the problem is with vinil (I have a audio technica AT-LP120-USB). The speaker are this: https://elac.com/db63

Yes …Have you turned on the built in phono preamp on your turntable?
Which phono preamp are you using? It is common for vinyl to be quieter than streaming.Yes …
Even 150mV is very low for an input with 2V max. 10dB pregain will only increase it to 450mV.You should make sure that you have selected the LINE option on your turntable.
Output Level Pre-amp "PHONO": 2.5 mV nominal at 1 kHz, 5 cm/sec Pre-amp "LINE": 150 mV nominal at 1 kHz, 5 cm/sec
Phono Pre-Amp Gain 36 dB nominal, RIAA equalized

The gain of your turntable preamp is 36dB which probably isn't enough for a 2V line input.
It’s selected like that. You should make sure that you have selected the LINE option on your turntable.

I don’t understand… my turntable is very good and it worked perfectly well with my denom with 20y… and it’s a recent turntable, what’s wrong with this setup ?Which phono preamp are you using? It is common for vinyl to be quieter than streaming.

Please confirm that the switch is in the LINE position. It must not be in the PHONO position as shown on the picture. It’s selected like that.
Which model Denon?I don’t understand… my turntable is very good and it worked perfectly well with my denom with 20y… and it’s a recent turntable, what’s wrong with this setup ?
Sorry, my mistake: it’s selected as LINE. As it was with the denon. I’ve tried switching back do PHONO and I can only hear a very very low sound coming out of the speakers. Please confirm that the switch is in the LINE position. It must not be in the PHONO position as shown on the picture.
To which input of your Denon has the turntable been connected? If the amplifier input was labelled PHONO, then the switch is not in the right position for use with the WiiM Amp Ultra.
I think that 36 dB of preamplifier gain should be sufficient to get a usable output from the AT-LP120-USB.
