WiiM AMP Ultra + Pono(rega RP1) makes very LOW outputs

Hello,

rega RP1's out to WiiM AMP Ultra's line-in.
RP1 uses MM cartridge, then connected directly.
No doubt simple.

But this connecting makes very low outputs.
I've no idea what's wrong and where to dig.

RP1 + MM Pono AMP runs pretty well.

Here, I use exactly same speaker systems for two combination.

Any advice and help will be appreciated.

I don’t think the Rega has a built in Phono preamp. In that case you will need to insert a preamp between the Rega and the Wiim line in.

The RP1 has no phono stage but the RP1+ does. Which is it?

Even more entry level turntables up to 1k € and some a bit more expensive devices like the Revox Studiomaster T700 have onboard pre-amps. It can have a few advantages.

It can have many advantages. But if the turntable doesn't, or the OP has bypassed it then that is what the problem is.

If you need a preamp, Behringer make a one that sounds as good as any for £20.
