Greetings,

I am reaching out regarding an issue with the Wi-Fi functionality on my WiiM Amp device. Regardless of the steps I take, the unit does not appear to offer any option to connect to my Wi-Fi network; it only works when connected via an Ethernet cable. A hard reset and firmware update have not resolved the problem.

It seems that the Wi-Fi capability may be disabled for some reason. Could you please advise on what further actions can be taken?

Thank you in advance

Hi
Typically, WiiM can connect to the Wi-Fi network to which the smartphone used for setup is connected. If you disconnect the LAN cable from the Amp, what will be displayed in the WiiM app's network status? If possible, please post a screenshot.

Also, I recommend submitting a ticket via the feedback section in the WiiM app.
(WiiM home > More > Feedback)

Your device logs will be sent, which will help resolve the issue.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick response. I have already submitted feedback to the technical support team, although I am not certain how helpful their input will be. I am sharing the screenshot for your reference.

As mentioned, I have tried all available options, but none have yielded any positive results. It appears as though the Wi-Fi module might not be functioning or may not be present at all.

Could you also screenshot that tab when the Ethernet cable is not connected?

I’d delete and re-install the WiiM app, reboot your router, power cycle the amp (disconnect it from power, wait a few minutes and then power up again) and then post that page with Ethernet not cabled in.

If I disconnect the Ethernet cable for about five minutes, the device enters setup mode and the Wi-Fi configuration screen appears in the network status. However, regardless of what I try, my phone is unable to connect to the device. have tested this with two different phones-one Android and one Apple- with the same result.

Have you turned on Bluetooth on your smartphone?

Please also try rebooting your smartphone.

As mentioned, I have tested with two different devices, and neither of them is able to detect the WiiM Amp via Bluetooth, regardless of whether the unit is in setup mode or operating normally.

Provided your phone's Bluetooth is switched on, there should be no issue. During setup, you do not need to connect to the Amp from that screen.

What happens when you press the 'Change' icon on the WiiM app's network status screen?

Well..... Game over.
See this.

If all else fails I would try a full factory reset.
