Question for the developers.

For this moment I perforce using PLEX App for listening my music home library from the Apple TV through Wiim Pro Plus.
This setup has some troubles like AirPlay2 quality limitations, changing external output before listening, problems with tracks rewind... etc.
Do you have any plans for port WiiM App from iOS to Apple tvOS or, may be, it is already in alpha/beta testing in TestFlight?

Same way the iOS app connects to WiiM devices.
A tvOS app would bring a “WiiM ultra screen” to everyone.

Pros:
Similar Roon’s tv cast ability (but on device)
High performance and snappiness of Apple TV
Large album art and song play controls, sample rate information etc.
Perhaps lyrics implementation for future releases (personally I don’t care if it is song matched)
Perhaps more art and artist information (Roon like) for future releases

Cons:
Still WiFi output use
Tv audio connection is redundant (which I personally prefer but I would understand if that’s a problem for others)

I created an account for this exact request but Seilenos was faster!
I think it would be a superb app for tvOS
Please consider it!
Thanks!

Trough AirPlay2

All AppleTV products have Ethernet RJ45 Port (except 4K 2022 64), like as all WiiM products (except Mini).
Oh ok, we ask for different reasons then.

You would like to use the Apple TV for both screen and sound, I would like to use it only for the screen and I still use my own dac connected to the WiiM. I would say both are valid.

Yeah I wasn’t vey clear when I said WiFi, I stand corrected, thanks. Also when I mean everyone, of course I meant everyone with an Apple TV!!

Still it would be a great app!
Cheers

In the meantime (you may already have considered this), connecting your TV's optical out port to your WiiM Pro Plus could give you better sound and the control you seek whilst enjoying the Plex app. Of course, such a connection has to be possible with your setup.

I also suggested what you are asking for as a better alternative to a request for a Now Playing output via HDMI on another thread.

Bumping this, as I too would LOVE a port of the Wiim Home iOS app to Apple tvOS. It would be awesome to be able to control the Wiim from my TV as well as have all the now playing info show. I want control from the couch without having to squint at my phone. Heck, I'd even take a Wiim Home app for LG TV webOS!

Hi all! Just bumping the old thread to let you know that we're testing out a WiiM Home app for Apple TV! Check it out in the Apple TV app store and let us know what you think!

It would be nice if all the songs on the album or playlist being played could be displayed in the Apple TV app.

I've looked at it but nothing was there before. I'll have to check after work today to see if there's an update. I use Tidal connect.
As I think has been mentioned in other posts recently, the queue from tidal Connect is held in the cloud so won’t be seen on a target device or the WiiM app, tv or otherwise.

Queue information for TIDAL Connect is currently not available in the WiiM Home App. If you'd like to view the queue, please use TIDAL directly within the WiiM Home App instead.

I just would like to say that I think this app for Apple tvOS is really amazing. I use it on my Apple TV 4K 2022 and whenever I play music on my WiiM Pro Plus and my headphones (not connected with audio to the TV or the Apple TV) album art shows flawlessly on the TV and music streams through my phones. Exactly how I want it. Perfect for my use-case.

@RyanWithWiiM

Hi, do you think the tvOS app will ever have the same functions as the IOS and Android versions. I only use my AppleTV and it would be awesome to completely control the WiiM from there, no phone involved.

How would you search or enter network stream URLs etc - using an onscreen keyboard via an Apple TV remote? Wouldn’t that be cumbersome?
