the wiim home app for desktop is not functional for me, i try stream from tidal, nothing really happends, there is also no apps in home app? only way i can stream from my desktop is via chromecast?

The desktop WiiM Home app is still very much in beta and doesn't link to streaming apps. Use the desktop Tidal app and Tidal Connect (not chromecast) to play to your WiiM

You should be able to use Tidal connect on windows. No need to use the app

Honestly this is more of a Tidal issue than a WiiM one, I love their service for how it sounds, but the apps don't hold a candle to Spotify's

Not sure what you mean by that. There's no Tidal integration in the WiiM Home beta app for Windows. Whatever the Tidal app for Windows does (or doesn't) is not related to the WiiM Home app for Windows or for any other platform.

My WiiM devices show up as Tidal Connect targets in the Tidal app for Windows every time I try it. So, what exactly does pop up once in a while for you?

Sorry of bother.

I run Tidal on a W11 PC and can't figure out how to enable Tidal Connect to send music to my Ultra.
I can only see in Tidal's peripheral list what's actually plugged on the PC, e.g my DAC.
I also tried to double check the firewall ports for Tidal without success.
Can anybody be so kind to give me some hints?

Thanks in advance.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see?

This is all I can see under the Audio Output menu...

-edit-
Afaik, this seems to be a common problem already highlighted from several Tidal customers.
Honestly don't know it it doesn't make any sense to start battling with something that seems to be an erratic Tidal Desktop behavior.
