Thank you @WiiM Team the app installed perfectly on my Google TV 4K dongle. I look forward to seeing more features, but for now it displays what's playing perfectly on my 75 inch 4K TV.

I had no issues with installation and it automatically found my WiiM Pro Plus. I didn't need to do anything other than install the app and open it.

Can you WiiM app be assigned to the star button on the Google TV 4k dongle remote to simultaneously turn on the TV and start the WiiM app with a single click?

And can you do this with voice control on the remote as well?

In my instance, the WiiM Ultra was picked up immediately and selected in the device list, but nothing's showing. Sony TV with Google TV, connected with USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter.

Oh, you're asking me? I have no idea how I would do that. Additionally, my remote is different to one shown. I turn on the Google Chromecast, TV and Soundbar by using the Home button on the Google remote. If I then select WiiM app it opens and shows me what is playing or last played etc.

I would like to always show track progress and volume level.

Pages similar to the Ultra screens would be good.

Yes, mine is the 4K Google TV Chromecast dongle, but I believe the one you showed is from the newer Google TV Streamer device.

And because there's plenty of room on the screen we could get some pages with all possible information about the track, album and artist.

Even a page with WiiM technical information (like we can get from the http API) could be made available. This could be the versions (hw and sw) but also things like temperature and network.

Do I need a 75-inch TV to display album jackets at actual size?

I'm thinking of getting a 32" for my audio room, but it will probably be CD size..

I'm sure more features will be added. But for a first release I think it's pretty good. I've not had much chance to play with this new app, but I'm sure it will look good on a smaller screen as well, but it's pretty impressive on our big screen.

I have no cause to criticise or complain. This is a fun novelty that WiiM has given its users free of charge, and as I said earlier, like all their apps and firmware, I'm sure more exciting features will be added in due course.

Yes you can with this remote.

With the following app you can also customize the other buttons (also the one for YouTube & Netflix) - or assign custom actions for double press/long press.

As said with the Apple TV version: more features will be added further down the line. Let's hope development for the Apple and Android version will be more or less in sync, just like with the WiiM Home app.

That's strange indeed. I have the 4K Google TV dongle with Android 12 and it was a very easy installation. I didn't even need to select a device. I only have the WiiM Pro Plus, which came up with what was playing straight away when opening the TV app. Did you have anything playing on the Ultra? Probably irrelevant, but my WiiM was playing when I installed the Google TV app.

Only other thing I can think off is a wifi issue perhaps. Are the Ultra and Google TV on the same wifi source?

Yes everything is on the same network and subnet. One interesting twist in my case is the opposite of what some others are reporting works for them, i.e. some with Android TV boxes have indicated it only works when that box is connected via WiFi and not Ethernet.

My 2024 Google TV Streamer is connected via Ethernet, as is the Ultra.

I was hopeful when I saw WiiM pushed firmware update 5.2.719248 to my Ultra this morning, however that hasn't solved anything and the 6/6/2025 Build Date release notes didn't indicate it should have, so I guess I'll just hurry up and wait!
