Wiim Mini and Chromecast

I'm after a definitive answer on this as Google's and the forum AI answers have been mixed.

Does the Wiim Mini support Chromecast? I am looking at replacing my Chromecast Audios and I want/need to cast apps such as BBC Sounds from an Android device, and want the small form factor of the Mini.

No, the Mini is not compatible with Chromecast.

thanks had read that groups support streaming services and local inputs, but wasn't sure if that covered Chromecast.

Group playback with WiiM is not supported on Chromecast. You must create a Google speaker group using the Google Home app.

Not supported due to a Chromecast restriction - all devices need to support Chromecast and need to be in a Google Home, not WiiM, group.

All I recall WiiM saying was that the Mini didn’t have the necessary hardware - guess the restriction could be read either way
