WiiM Mini & Sony TA-AN1000

I just wanted to post that the WiiM Mini is a flawless addition to the Sony TA-AN1000 AV amplifier. I struggled to find info online about the combination so figured I’d add it here.

The amp is pretty musical for an AV amp and has Bluetooth, Airplay 2, Spotify Connect and Chromecast. It is missing Tidal Connect and the WiiM Mini gives me that.

The Sony specs for the optical input aren’t explicit but I can confirm it does support 192kHz, and the DAC inside is a pretty decent 32bit depth 192kHz chip.

(Remember that WiiM drops from 192kHz to 48kHz when linking for multi room.)

That’s pretty well known and there’s an argument that it’s more than sufficient for casual listening over multiple rooms, if not even just the one room.
