WIIM Mini stuck on solid green light – unresponsive

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with my WIIM Mini. It seems to be completely stuck: the device only shows a solid green light and doesn’t respond to any button presses (short or long).

I’ve already tried the following:

  • Unplugging the power for a longer period – it goes through a restart cycle but always returns to a solid green light.
  • It doesn’t show up in the WIIM app and is not connected to my Wi-Fi network.
  • Based on another post I also tried a different power supply, but that didn’t solve the issue either.

At this point it feels unresponsive and I’m not sure what else I can do.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to recover it, or is this a case for warranty/replacement?

Thanks!

If you find the situation normal, not requiring serious investigations...
Answer of wiim?

(ps in the case of the pro plus...no overconsumption at startup...or even a little lower....moreover, even a correct 1A transformer would support occasional overconsumption ... problem of tension?)
Sorry. I have no idea of what you are trying to say.

for a machine operating with 1A basic transformers since 2021/22, with a consumption of less than 0.3A ...
the situations, the proportions, described here are not normal and require a rapid reaction from wiim...

(plus pro side...nothing has changed since its release on this point it seems even with the new firmwares..and fortunately moreover...)

Yes, it's clearly a power supply issue. We have seen similar reports in other threads.

It also looks like this has changed lately, so something has changed in the firmware causing it to demand more power in peak situations.

People are reporting no issues with high power chargers, while some reports issues with older low power units. If it were a general issue I would expect more people reporting it.

I do however agree that @WiiM Team should investigate this and publish a recommendation (or fix).

If enough people actually report it by raising a ticket, I suspect they might

if many others have no problems with their mini, classic 1A supply , and recent firmware...just a hardware problem in somes mini...
(""enough""....how many people does that start from?
;-) )

even if in my opinion it's up to Wiim to do it...,
maybe some here could observe the consumption of a Wiim mini up to date..take just few minutes (like with just a restart etc)?
That would clarify the situation.....

The USB cable connected to my Mini frequently shows 1W, but this cable can only be measured in 1W increments, so it can't be trust 🤷
However, it is possible that it exceeds 1W.

Not sure why you refer to a previous post?

Even though 1A should be enough, some power supplies may not be able to handle short peaks that goes above that, while others may.
The Wiim mini will now need a 3A transformer...wellllll and 2A not enough....

( but pro plus ...not need....in start less of 0.5a)

No problemo...
;-)
