Sharing my music-first setup built around the WiiM Pro—streamlined signal path, precise tuning, and deep integration with three subs. My goal was to create a wall of bass so listeners cannot localized the source of bass for specific music / or centralize the bass for other songs even though the subs are located on front left and right. I also wanted to make sure the bass distribution was even despite the right side of the room having the 15in subwoofer.

Signal Path
WiiM Pro → optical out (24-bit / 192kHz) non fixed → SMSL DO100 DAC (Filter: 6 DPLL: 1) → RCA analog out to Denon AVR-X3700H (Pure Direct) → AVR passes full-range signal (LFE+Main enabled) → MiniDSP 2x4 HD controlling all subwoofers → 3-Sub Array: 2x Polk PSW10s + Velodyne CHT-15

Room Correction & EQ Tuning
WiiM Room Correction Individiual (L/R): Harman-style target from 120Hz–4kHz
Max gain: +6dB
Max Q: 4.0
1/3 octave smoothing

MiniDSP EQ (Input PEQ):
Flattened 20–100Hz response
60Hz gentle lift with a 12dB/oct slope (house curve feel)
90Hz narrow cut to tame a room mode

Delay & Phase Alignment:
All subs set to 8.0ms base delay
Velodyne: +0.4ms extra to match cone behavior
Polk PSW10 #1: 0° phase, 0.02ms delay
Polk PSW10 #2: 180° phase, 0.4ms delay

Gain-matched subs to mains @ reference, with an alternate MiniDSP preset at +2dB for a full-bodied “fun mode”, a Rap/EDM miniDSP preset (boosted 50-60hz) , Trap miniDSP preset (extra 45-60, dip at 80)

Speakers
Canton Karat 300s (full-range, toed in, sitting on PSW10s)
Subs:
2x Polk PSW10 (L/R under the Karats, stacked tight for bass reinforcement)
Velodyne CHT-15 (front right corner, toed in)

Room is symmetrical with treatments: bass traps, panels, rug

Digital to analog chain is pure and controlled from streamer to DAC to subs
No bass smear—subs are time-aligned, phase-matched, and flat
Mains are free to breathe full-range, supported by a seamless low-end shelf
Four MiniDSP presets for neutral listening or genre-optimized energy
Everything calibrated at main listening position.

And of course best for last my WiiM parametric EQ presets built on top of the WiiM individual L/R Room correction
Preset 1 is my clean, reference Harman-style EQ—perfect for accurate listening with flat subs (MiniDSP Preset 1). Preset 2 is basically the same but used with slightly hotter subs (+2dB), just to make music a little fuller and more engaging. Preset 3 is the Rap/EDM curve—some slight dips in the low mids and a bit more punch up top to pair with the aggressive MiniDSP bass tuning. Preset 4 is Trap —more cut in the low mids, sharper rise in the highs, and designed to match the hardest-hitting sub preset. All four are just tuned to complement my 2.3 setup depending on what I’m vibing to.
