Wiim Pro Plus and Zen Mini Mk 3

I don't see that any of those would help. As stated the Zen can see the Pro Plus and send music to it but the Pro Plus doesn't play anything despite a countdown on the Zen. Meanwhile Picore Player /LMS can both see and play anything on the Zen. There's nothing else configurable on the Pro Plus. So my easiest solution is to send it back as faulty rather than spend hours trying things, if it is supposed to work in this way
Be that as it may, we don’t have any evidence from what you have said that the Zen is presenting itself as a UPNP server that the WiiM home app and the two very common and widely respected UPNP apps I have named would be able to support.

Bubbleupnp can see the Pro plus and supposedly send music to it.
Can it see your library on the Zen and play from it too? And by “supposedly” do you mean the pro plus is actually playing music? How do you have all the devices connected?

So, where do we go from here? Is it faulty or????
It may be but given that other network reated functionality is working then to me it still suggests that there is something that needs tweaking, either on the network or possibly on the Innuos.
For me and many others the DLNA srever discovery just works, I am running LMS on a Raspberry Pi.
You siad that the Innuos and Wiim are on the same network but are they on the exact same subnet ?

Ha, I'm not sure how I know if they're on the same sub net? Address of the Pro Plus is 192.168.1.120 and Zen 192.168.1.142 if that gives any clues

Hi,
yes that looks like they are in the same subnet
Typically the first three octets (sets of digits) will be the same, i.e. 192.168.1
Have you raised a ticket with Wiim. They will be able to look at your logs to help diagnose.
In the Wiim app click on the bottom right ... and then choose feedback

So, still no progress on this. Wiim support have just asked the same questions as here, and I've given them the same answers. Like you I'm running LMS on a Raspberry Pi and it can see and play all the content from the Zen Mini. The anomalies are BubbleUPNP and the Pro Plus

What software are you using to interface with LMS?

What players does LMS see thru that interface ? Do they include the Pro Plus? For example, here’s what players my LMS service on my Pi can see via LMS’ Material Skin interface, showing my Pro Plus:

Hi,
I'm using PiCore Player. LMS sees the Pro Plus and can send music from my Zen to it which plays perfectly
PiCore Player is the platform LMS runs on, I was asking how you interfaced to that I.e what client software do you use to access LMS?

If LMS can see and play music from the Zen to the Pro Plus, then what’s your problem?

Don't know what you mean by software. PiCore Player is downloaded onto the Raspberry Pi playing via Squeezebox if that's the software.

The problem is that I should be able to play from music directly from the Zen, not by opening another App, controlling a different playback system

By client software, I meant what app do you use to initiate playback I.e what’s running on your phone or pc that interfaces with the rest of the system to allow you to select music to play and allows you to choose which device you want that music played on?

Screenshots of what you are doing and what you perceive to be amiss would greatly help.

I'm using Squeezer on Android. I'm not sure what screenshots would help. It's as simple as choosing my player on Squeezer (pro plus) and choosing as source on Squeezer the Zen. All works perfectly

So we’re now back to it working perfectly?

What is it that you say isn’t working? Are you talking about using the WiiM Home app or some other app? How does the Zen appear in that other app?

A recent (Feb’25) post on the Sonos forum suggests that Innuos still use the old insecure v1 of the samba/SMB protocol, so in terms of a simple network share (I.e showing under “Shared Folder” under Home Music Share in the WiiM Home app - if that’s what you mean by the pro plus “seeing” the Zen), it’s not compatible with WiiM devices which use the more up to date secure SMB2/3 protocol.

However, if you have indeed enabled the Zen as a UPNP server in the innuos app settings, then it should appear as a “Media Server” under Home Music Share and allow the WiiM Home app to browse and play files stored on the Zen.

Where the Zen appears or doesn’t appear in the WiiM Home app (I.e. either Shared Folder or Media Server) would confirm which route you are perhaps trying to take, hence my request for screenshots.

If you’re using neither Squeezer or the WiiM Home app, please elucidate.
