WiiM Sound Firmware v5.2.809035 Update - Feb 28, 2026

Playback & UI Improvements:
  1. Supports per-input Now Playing screen customization.
  2. Improved handling of short tracks and near-end track transitions to prevent skipping or audio leakage.
  3. Fixed multiple cases of unexpected track skipping or premature track changes across services.
Smart Home & Connectivity:
  1. Control 4 Integration: Seamlessly integrates with Control 4 systems for enhanced smart home control. Learn more.
  2. Bluetooth Output: Allows audio to be streamed to Bluetooth devices (requires the upcoming app update).
Radio & Streaming Services:
  1. Radio: Enhanced live track metadata display with ICY support across TuneIn, iHeartRadio.
  2. Qobuz: Enabled Track Radio, Artist Radio, and Album Radio.
  3. vTuner Radio: Improved playback reliability with a backup stream URL fallback.
  4. SoundCloud: Added support for third-party login.
  5. TuneIn: Fixed an issue where alarms could fail to start playback on time.
  6. iHeartRadio: Fixed an issue where playback could stop unexpectedly.
  7. Pandora: Fixed an issue that could cause unexpected track skipping.
  8. Napster: Fixed My Music playback failures, incorrect station controls, and a crash when the internet connection is lost.
  9. Plex: Fixed incorrect track progress display for alarms, station history playback failures, and occasional early track skipping.
  10. Amazon Music: Fixed playback interruptions when playing short playlists.

Just got the update. First thing I checked was if it (and thereby also the WHA) would show the meta info sent by the UPnP server instead of the embedded tags.
Bingo, it does👍! Very happy!
 
Now the only thing missing for eternal bliss is the analogue clock display during playback.
Oh well, I guess there need to be things that you can look forward to.

I have an outstanding ticket for this on the Ultras, with the following text.

I would like to propose a set of new Now Playing screens for the Ultras.

1) Screens as we already got but with an included clock in addition to the other meta data.

2) The current standby clock options but with a line added that includes some basic meta data from currently playing track/album.


You should raise a similar request for the Sound.

You should raise a similar request for the Sound.
It's on the roadmap for the Ultra. If it arrives there I'm confident that it will trickle down also to the Sound.
