WiiM Ultra and Quobuz skipping

I posted this fault in a previous thread btw

Amazon works fine Martin, I own albums from Qobuz and the download on my hard drive plugged into my ultra plays fine just not on Qobuz within the WHA
That's good to know - thanks. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Amazon - I haven't forgiven them yet for downgrading prime video to be advert laden (unless you give them even more coin). And, going way back, when they split prime video and prime shopping to double the fee.

No I downloaded them on my pc when I bought them and I have put them on a 1tb hard drive which I have connected to my ultra with usb

Yep - I have no problem with music served from my NAS using DNLA. It's the live streaming from quobuz that is the problem :(

I can offer little advice in the specific case of @Martin Mayhead except for that this is not a general issue with either Tidal or the WiiM Ultra. I can play flawlessly using Tidal connect or Tidal integrated in the WiiM Home app.

Yes but something is amiss as we both have the same problems and my WiiM mini works with no issues as well hopefully tech support will find something in the logs I submitted

I am aware of what you wrote and just wanted to add that this is not a general known issue. It might be something that occurs under very specific conditions possibly found in both your setups. As such it's possibly best to let WiiM investigate into it further so they might be able to isolate these conditions.

Indeed I have switched to Amazon Music because of it and now haven’t got any problems
Thanks for your input 👍

As Skull said, this happens only in the setup with the WiiM Ultra, it doesn't happen in the same environment (network etc) with my Wii Pro Plus or, I believe, in Skull's WiiM Mini. It's clearly an issue with the Ultra firmware. I am more than happy for WiiM to investigate this and will provide whatever info and debugging process they require but it is a real issue that seriously undermines the viability of the unit.

I fully understand that you need a solution for your use case and that you are capable and willing to provide any input needed. It's just that this is not a general oversight by WiiM, since most users are not affected.

However, they have a reputation for solving such problems and I'm sure this will be no exception. (y)

There are many here that are impatient. Wiim replied that they working on it. Give it some time before it get fixed. Like anything else, first order of business in troubleshooting reset/restart your device. If that did not fix it that’s where you send ticket.

Hi Team,

We identified the root cause of the Qobuz-related issues on WiiM Ultra and applied a fix for users who submitted a feedback ticket. This fix will be included in the official firmware release within the next two days. Thank you once again for your assistance!

That's great - thanks.

:(I updated the Ultra to the new firmware release that should have fixed the problem but it still skips. I've sent a new feedback with device logs. New ticket is 516050
And the skipping happens on the same track on Tidal as well.
FYI the test track is Corpus Christi Carol from Jeff Beck: Emotion & Commotion
Update: it also does it on all tracks on that album. (But it's fine when played from my NAS/DNLA at the same res)

I know you are not a fan of unnecessarily performing steps that cannot make a difference but my Inask if you did power off and on the Ultra after applying the firmware update?

In the past there have been updates that wouldn't work as intended unless the mains connection has been interrupted. I mostly remember this concerning the sub out not being operational but since it's so fast and easy to do it might be worth trying it in this case, too.

If it still doesn't improve the situation that's some more relevant input.

Yes I did. The update reboots in the process and after that the problem persisted. So I disconnected the power to the unit and reconnected after 20 secs. Problem remains.

Can you tell me the firmware version for reference?

Thanks.

I have also updated and have the same faults I have recreated them and submitted a new ticket 516078
