hi everyone - first post and hoping for some guidance.

i have a Wiim Ultra that streams using Spotify into a Willsenton R8 without any issues. as a hi-fi newbie i've loved the sound through my Bosendorfer VC7s speakers.

i've just purchased an Audiolab 9000DCT transport for my CD collection.

I had thought i could connect the digital output from the Audiolab (no RCA outs) to the digital in of the Wiim, which would then auto detect the input, allowing me to use the Wiim's RCA outputs to connect to the R8. however i can't seem to get it working.

i've used the Wiim Home app to select the input settings, then trying the 'auto-detect' setting, and even factory re-set the Wiim to see if that would help, without luck.

Has anyone got a suggestion of what i'm doing wrong/what i'm misssing?

cheers

Simon

What is the issue? The auto detection or that you cannot select the optical input and get sound at all?

Hi,

If I remember correctly, the auto-sensing of optical input function only works under certain conditions.

After turning on "Auto-sensing of Optical in/HDMI ARC" in the audio input screen of the WiiM app, please try the following steps.
1000009024.jpg

1) If Spotify is playing, stop the music and then start playing the CD. (It may take up to 15 seconds before input switching becomes available).

2) Do not turn off the power remotely. Use Auto Standby only.

3) Start CD playback while the Ultra is turned off by Auto Standby.

4) Stop the music on the CD before switching from the optical input to any other input.

Check to see if auto-sensing functions properly when following these steps.
