spectrum analyzer is so exciting! Can’t wait for this to hit my Ultra. What framerate does it run at? Same for VU meters? Currect VU meter is too slow to be visually appealing. If you could get it to 30fps it would be nice but 60 appears lifelike.

Wondering what's different / how it's better than the beta that didn't require 3.4.0
Currently running the beta with 3.4.0 and, imo, it needs the option to choose between input and output signal, like vu meters has.
Maybe there are other goodies too, guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hi @Mr Ee ,

The difference from the beta version is that the animation is now more dynamic, takes playback latency into account, and offers both a simplified style and a detailed version with metadata for users to choose from.

The option is still under development and will be supported in the next app and firmware update.

Good but did it never occur to add input signal option like with vu meters? Clearly the need was identified months ago because of the addition to vu meters, but it's like "f* it... lets just do it anyway, probably no one will notice".

To be fair, they have said it's coming, and wiim seem to prefer to release extra functionality as time passes.
If it really is coming 'in the next app and firmware update' (don't be surprised / upset if it's the next, next update), I can wait.
Just means I need to turn it up until then :)

Well I got the firmware! Link is to a video showing Topping Dx5ii vs Wiim Ultra in spectrum analyzer mode. Wiim looks fine in isolation but Topping frame rate is far higher and more responsive than Wiim. Hopefully this can be improved over time.

Always loved the audio spectrum analyzer in my RME Adi2 dac, but as I prefer to use the dac/preamp of the Ultra and put my RME back in storage I'm eagerly awaiting this new firmware !

What makes you favor the Wiim? RME makes killer products.
