Rather than this spectral debate, I'd ask for a simple display add-on, an immediate switch to make Ultra to work as a "pure transport", bit-perfect mode via USB or Optical.

Better if exportable to all Wiim devices.
So this would immediately bypass all EQ, and RoomFit settings, that sounds good to me, but it would also need to apply to Coaxial Output.

This was requested, and discussed, many, many, many months ago.
🧓 Back in the good old days there were literally just a few options to revert to bit perfect. You could even just enable the MQA beta toggle for it :)
Now there are a zillion options. Some call it progress :ROFLMAO:

iirc, Wiim commented that it could / would be implemented. Don't think they said when...

"In two weeks" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

It would be great if I could put a USB pendrive on it and select it from the touch screen. It would be nice to solve this somehow :) By the way, is there a difference in sound quality between firmwares?

What firmware updates are coming soon, "via trickle-down," to products other than the Ultra?
The "lower-end" models? No screen etc...
Will these updates affect streaming functions, or are they purely audio-related?
Thank you

You should be glad that you ain't getting all these firmware updates, I received one yesterday which killed my Plex connection stone dead. NO documentation that I can see anywhere on Wiim's forum but if anyone has a working Plex server, avoid this one.

will the api be able to load and play from m3u playlists soon? as the manual says it can do but it cant.. as of know it only loads the first song

Given that this was a general issue, how should concerned Plex users tell from your posting which firmware to avoid? :)

Sorry, I was so p*ssed off by this, I forgot to put the details.
Firmware.... 5.2.736859
BUILD DATE.. 20251127
I cannot find any details regarding this update, maybe someone else has some ideas?
Everything was working perfectly for me, then I allowed myself to be tempted and allowed this update to be installed.
Doh, I never learn. 😭

I shall look forward to receiving this update if it is an official release, and not a beta version.🙂

Hi everyone
Yesterday I reorganise my hi fi setup
I connect a external denafrips R2R DAC via coaxial output from my Wiim Ultra

Software update done too

I started listening and immediately I heard something is wrong with my subwoofer
I guess LPF filter works differently on new software or coax and sub out have some issue
Anyone noticed similar problem?
I connect DAC via optical connection to wiim ultra and problem gone, subwoofer sound correctly now, same like before when I using internal dac in ultra

Hi
Please unplug the Ultra's power cable and wait a while before reconnecting it. If the issue does not solve, submitting a ticket via the WiiM app's feedback section.
(Other > Feedback)

Device logs will be sent, which will assist in resolving the issue.

I am using Coaxial Output from my Ultra, and my subwoofer seems to be working just as well as usual, and no different since this firmware update.🤔

Hello again
Luckily problem gone
I unplugged wiim ultra, waiting about 2min, reconnect coax and power cable and now subwoofer works as usual, but really yesterday it was really bad sounds like bug frequency in LPF filter and I immediately heard that because I'm listening my music every day for good few hours and know my system really well

Thanks for your help guys, now my wiim ultra + R2R DAC sounds fantastic, is different league of sounding

So, my Ultra got its update.
Curiously, and first time I see after an update, it started to heavily stutter... Nothing serious, already saw it happen after some Pro+ updates.
As usual, I did a factory reset and, as expected, the nasty stutter went totally gone. Yay.

Unfortunately, I had to face an unpredictable problem:
Both Tidal and Qobuz services no longer showing their dialog page for login (Userid & Password) on WHA for Android, Ver. 3.4.0.

Tried everything as I could, power cycles, clear and uninstall WHA for Android, reinstalling it, rebooting the phone, unsuccessfully.

Luckily, I was later able to regain login on Qobuz through the Music Services page of WHA for Windows, Ver. 0.2.3.
Sadly, Tidal login is still out of my reach, being it currently not yet implemented on WHA for Windows.

Had to open a ticket (548610) and I'm now eagerly waiting for an helpful answer. :)

Hi,
Nice job with spectrum meter but I think that display smoothness is CPU power dépendant :

Low bit rate playback ==> smooth display

High bit rate playback ==> rough display

It's the same for VU meter .....
