Hi,
Nice job with spectrum meter but I think that display smoothness is CPU power dépendant :

Low bit rate playback ==> smooth display

High bit rate playback ==> rough display

It's the same for VU meter .....
Hi @Pikouchou ,

Thanks very much for your feedback. We will check this promptly.

The vast majority of music I listen to is 'CD' quality, and it's still so jerky / unnatural that I've gone back to the standard album art screen.
Shame really.
This is proof that screens can interfere with the audio pipeline. Even when optimized (i.e., fixing/mitigating this latest glitch) extra drivers and processing create EMI. A screen-less top tier streamer is missing in the WiiM product line

An issue popped up since this latest update. My line in connection goes crazy all the time. Sound drops in and out from the line in and I get pop ups all the time on the WHA. (Line in connected/Line in disconnected...).
Sent feedback ticket.
They moved me back to firmware 733343. Got a suggestion to do factory reset, reseat cables, unplug wiim....did all that (even tried another pair of cables that work fine on other gear) but to no avail. The problem persists and I can't use my line in anymore.

Regarding the Spectrum Analyzer.
I don't know if anyone noticed this, but the SA representation is completely wrong, unless I'm doing something wrong.
I compared the same track with the SA of the Topping, and the results are completely different.
While the Topping representation is perfectly consistent with the rhythm of the music, the Ultra's seems to be completely random.
It has nothing to do with what's being played.
I tried the album Trinity by Iiro Rantala, song "There is No Greater Love." The track opens with predominantly bass notes, and in the Topping they are visible. In the Ultra, however, they seem absent.
The same happens in the rest of the track. In the Topping, the movement is mainly on the left side, descending towards the right.
In the Ultra, the left side is at its lowest, there's a wall in the center, and the right side is extremely high.
Sorry, I don't know how to rotate the video 🤔

I ageee with this analysis. I have RME and topping DAC’s and when viewed side by side I have also noriced the WiiM’s spectrum analyzer lacks responsiveness to the beat of the music. It’s really noticeable when playing reggae with heavy bass lines.

I forgot one thing. Always compared to the Topping, the Ultra's SA is extremely slow. It lacks dynamics.

This is catch-22. As long as there is no more powerful hardware (I am not talking about sound quality!) this is one of the features what remains a gimmick.

Hi @Maurizio,

Thanks very much for your feedback, we will check the audio spectrum display implementation and compare it with other DACs again.

Is it true that the visualizations can affect sound quality?

My LG C3 OLED still changes his output from internal speakers to HDMI, even if HDMI in Wiim as the source is not selected - every time when TV is turned ON.

I'm ok with waiting, but the problem is that it is happening already for months and it was working fine at some point. One of the update broke it.

Can we ask for an update about this @WiiM Team ?

I have just tested a beta version where the HDMI CEC was working ok again. WiiM is implementing some new options, so that those of us that do not always use HDMI ARC for the TV sound can configure that on the WiiM and those how want to always have TV sound going to the WiiM can get that.

The new options are a bit strange and not that logical but it works.

Only issue I found was that the WiiM still highjacked the TV sound when it was rebooting.

I will expect it to be included in next update.

Hi, @Maurizio

Does the Topping spectrum analyser display down to 50Hz in the low-frequency range?

As the Ultra displays down to 25Hz, I guess it is normal for the left side to be lower.
Hi Wiimer
Mhhhh  .Don’t know, but the dancing bars in the Ultra and what you hear does not match. More. Is it useful to have 25 Hz? My B&W are 48 - 28.000 Hz.

This is not relevant to the symptoms being observed. The reportees posted that when they revert to static artwork or a lower bitrate they do not see the problems
As others have commented, this to me indicates that it is a processing bottleneck caused by the increased amout of data needing to be processed real time to display the moving images
