I know, I know. It never should have been allowed to happen. Regular free updates that fix bugs or add features we didn’t have when we bought our devices, and one is two weeks late around Chinese New Year when staff typically take well deserved holidays. Heads should roll…

They why didn't they wait until the new year was over like other companies? It comes around every year not exactly a suprise...
As I said it looks terrible especially for new users..

Also I don't know why they don't get a few users to help alpha and beta testing. Wiim are very lucky there are a lot of users here that really know their onions, I can think of at least half a dozen users in 30 seconds that are more than up to the job....

We know from previous years that the announcements and updates came to a bit of a halt around the Chinese New Year.

Although maybe the better way to go forward is to save these feature announcements until after they've been tested in beta. And just do the announcement as the updates are stable and rolling out. I count myself as one of the many beta-testing candidates on these forums.

Maybe a separate, closed "beta" forum would be nice as well: less cluttered, direct communication with developers and keeping the technical chit-chat away from the general user base @RyanWithWiiM

Exactly this separate sub forum only seen by the chosen few... Like many here I've been around forums for decades and this is normal in most of them...
Btw I'm not putting my name forward 😂 some users here totally lose me with graphs and the like...

I don't think it's right to select unsuspecting guinea pigs to see if everything works as it should. They shouldn't be experimenting on my skin without my knowledge.
You might think that this is wrong. Others complained about not being member of that group. It's impossible to please everyone. ;)

Fact is, that this is the way software is rolled out "over the air". And it's not limited to Hi-Fi gear. 🤷‍♂️

Today they announced an update to the WiiM Home app that was released on 11th February 😂
Just another proof of the fact that you cannot please everyone. :)
