Wiim Ultra To Active Speakers

Hi all

Well I went for the Ultra after having a Pro Plus and it's a great step up for sure. This is mainly because I want the USB and headphone jack.
One question that I've been meaning to ask is.... I have a pair of QA M20 HD Active Speakers but I never know what volume % to assign to the Speakers and to the Wiim. Should the Active Speakers be on full and use the Wiim as the volume control? Other way round?

Any help would, as always be greatly appreciated.

Cheers :)

I’d have a go and see which you prefer in terms of sound and ease of use - I guess having the remote to control the Ultra’s sound might be a plus if the speakers don’t have a remote.

Heya, both have a remote and tbh once I've selected the QA to "Analogue" then I use the Wiim for everything else. It sound pretty much the same doing it all ways lol I just wasn't sure whether it was "better" to do it one way or another :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

Thinking about it, I guess this scenario would be pretty similar to someone who is using passive speakers and an amp - what volume would the Amp be in relation to the Wiim products volume :)

A little aside, I connected my external SSD to my Ultra last night and after a while it found all the songs, sorted them out into libraries and wow, I can now listen to all my FLAC and DSD content (plus Tidal stuff of course) all from my iPhone and control the same from the Wiim Home App - WWCD :) #veryhappylad

I do also have active speakers and I have set their volume to the loudest I normally play with WiiM on 100%. Then I adjust the volume down on the WiiM. Only when I need to play louder I change the speakers volume.

This do of course not work if you have a sub.

Well, there's another thing @hgo58 :) I looked at the QA B12, but it's far too big for the space, so the other two I'm looking at are the Ruark RS1 or the REL Tzero MK III - wondered if anyone has experience with either of these that can offer some opinions?
I don't listen to much dance music, but I do like a nice soft bass at lower volumes (when I'm not in Headphone mode) - think Michael Jackson "Off The Wall" album!!

Other options encouraged :)

Cheers
