Will Ultra ever support Airplay?

I have a 7 node WiiM system a group of mostly pro plus but a Pro and mini too.. I ordered the Ultra for my main hi-fi and did not realize it did not support airplay. Was actually really shocked, I didn't really look at the specs as I assumed the ultra would be a superset of the functionality that I was already using on the Pro platform, not have a significant deficiency like this.. Is WiiM still planning to support airplay? Am I safe getting another Pro Plus, will it continue to support airplay? I already filed a return with Amazon, but am just startled about this, assumed this was table stakes for any streamer... is there any roadmap for this?

I don’t think the Ultra will ever support airplay. What I did was get a Belkin Soundform Connect from Amazon. Used the optical out from it to optical in on the ultra. Works great.

That or an Apple Airport Express prior to 2012, which supports CD quality via AirPlay 1. Plenty on eBay.

If airplay is your main feature, get the previous model like the pro, mini, pro plus or you can keep the ultra and connect mini to become the airplay.

but now you have lost the digital in and it is less useful than the pro plus, what would the premium possibly be worth. Its a pretty lame product when u delete airplay.. I will prolly get a pro plus and hope for the best.. really makes me concerned about going this route for whole house..

As I’ve mentioned, you can group a mini with the Ultra and airplay to that without losing any connections on the Ultra.
