Amp Pro rearside connections

Hello,

I have a question about the back of the Amp Pro.

The pictures on the internet show a continuous aluminum back in which the connections are embedded. Is this an original design that was then discarded?

My device has a back like the Amp with the recessed plastic plate.

I am also asking because of the input socket for the optical cable, which in my opinion does not inspire much confidence. The optical plug has a lot of play and the whole socket wobbles, which inevitably raises the question of whether and how the socket is connected to the housing at all (at the very least, I would avoid changing the optical cable as far as possible ...).

Nope, all the pictures I found show a back like this:

My amp and amp pro (both early units) have the black backplate you mention, so that image must have been an early mockup. If I deliberately try to wobble the optical cable, it does move a bit, but I don't recall many or any complaints about that port apart maybe from that on the Mini when it first came out

Fortunately, I don't have any transmission problems either.
