I have the Wiim Amp Ultra connected to a couple of Monitor Silver S1 bookshelf speakers. My normal listening volume is in the 30-35 range. A couple of days ago, I accidentally turned the volume up to 100 and nearly blew out my speakers and ears. I found the Max Volume Limit setting in the Wiim Home App, but it doesn't behave as I would like. Instead of setting a ceiling that would limit the volume to the Max Volume Limit, it instead operates as a multiplier with the volume. However, when I tested it, I found that case (i) a volume of 50 and max volume limit of 100 is significantly louder than case (ii) a volume of 100 and a max volume limit of 50.
1) I was wondering how exactly the logic for the max volume limit and volume setting interact.
2) Is there any difference in signal fidelity between case (i) and (ii)?
3) Is there any plan on the roadmap to add a volume ceiling feature so I could have Max Volume Limit = 100 and simply prevent a volume value > 60 (for example).
