I'm confused I ordered the Wiim AMP, not realizing the vibleink exists... I have an Ultra and just need an amp that integrates seamlessly with it.
1. Can the AMP do this? If so how do I integrate it. I have the AMP and Ultra set up and connected.
2. Is the vibe link better for the seamless aspect of the setup?
Thanks

The Amp is a streamer and amplifier. The Vibelink is just an amplifier and the better one at that.
Depends on what you want to do.

I guess since I have the Ultra I just need an amp. One of my main concerns is the amp working seamlessly with the ultra

Yes just an amp will do thus the vibelink would be the better pairing with the ultra. From personal experience I can say its a great combo.

If it's meant to be paired with the WiiM Ultra, then definitely return the WiiM Amp and get the Vibelink instead!

Although you could theoretically connect the Ultra to one of the digital inputs of the WiiM Amp, all of the streaming capabilities and extra connectivity on the WiiM Amp will not be used. The Amp also lacks the 12v trigger input, allowing the Vibelink to automatically power on/off with the Ultra.

Vibelink is the better amplifier and also has a better built-in DAC (still important since you'll want to connect the Ultra to one of its digital inputs, to avoid an extra stage of digital-analog-digital conversion)

You can use the Amp (Streamer amp) with the Ultra.
You can also use the Vibelink (amp olny ) with the Ultra.

Again, what are you trying to do? I cannot see how an amp that is not a player will ‚work together‘ (i.e. communicate) with anything in the network.

The answer is above - he can use either.

The vibelink doesn't convert its analog input to digital.
But yes, fundamentally I agree, @antkn33 should return the wiim amp, get the vibelink and connect the two via optical or coax.
And get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable for the trigger connection so the vibelink turns on / off as needed automatically.

Just set the volume on the vibelink to 100% and forget about it, if your sources have adjustable volume levels.
Of course, but it's also about the visual aspect and somehow they managed to position it a bit offset compared to the Ultra's volume knob :')

Does that really matter. 🤔
Well, it's obviously a pretty minor quibble in the grand scheme of things, but it clearly matters enough to some. I personally think that given the vibelink is designed primarily to pair with the ultra, wiim could have done a better job of matching them aesthetically. For me, a black front/silver body (same as ultra) would have been a better look than just going with the all grey/silver amp casing. I reckon that would look better with all the other wiim streamers (black) as well.

I noticed that when the Vibelink was first released and thought the slight mismatch of knobs between the Ultra and Vibelink was an odd oversight for what was otherwise an excellent cosmetic match. However, I bought a Vibelink anyway and am pleased that I did. The two units are stacked and I don't notice the alignment issue. I don't spend much time hovering over the stereo so the issue is basically unnoticeable from my listening position or elsewhere in the room. So, my initial observation about the difference quickly turned into a non-issue. (And the system sounds great and the music management app is very good and still getting better.)

I think WiiM were looking to fix that misalignment in recent production batches but not sure if those batches have hit the market yet. Depending on how recently you bought a vibelink, maybe it’s a non-issue now.

Apart from the misalignment, with no way to entirely disable the volume control, I'd probably grow tired very quickly of always having to explain my friends or even my partner why not to use one volume knob and not the other ;)
