Audio cuts out after CEC volume changes?

I have my amp connected to myself C1 with CEC control of volume. Generally works great however if I press and hold volume up on lg remote for a few seconds to make a major adjustment to volume, the amp drops sound for about 3 seconds completely before increasing volume. Single clicks on volume work fine.
Anyone else seeing similar?
