Thats it, Wiim autoupdated my device again, and again it stopped working properly, why WIIM?, please stop with the autoupdate.

As users from this forum suggested, I've been using a beta firmware to solve the stuttering problems, I've supposed that since Im using a beta I'll be PROTECTED from the dreadful auto-update, but NOPE!

My Ultra became unstable again, stuttering from time to time during 1 hour playing, or just stuttering 5 times in 3 minutes, what the hell is going on? well, Wiim updated MY device again without my consent.

PLEASE WIIM STOP! The first time my unit became unstable cos the updates, I was in time to return it and get my money back, and I was very very tempted to do it, but since my device was working fine with a beta firmware I decided to keep it, BIG MISTAKE...

People should be informed that they will not OWN the device they paid for, they MUST know WIIM will keep making changes to the device anytime they want and in the way they want to.

You have got this the wrong way around, you do own the device, but you don’t own the firmware that runs on it.

I paid for a WORKING device, and it needs the firmware (at least the installed one) to work so... and if I OWN a device, why they can make it unusable and tinker with it without my consent? :/

Since I installed the old firmware back I've been listening to Spotify without stuttering for hours, no wifi issues.
@WiiM Team has changed the WiFi implementation lately. Maybe there is issues with the way your WiFi works with this.

Better to raise a ticket to WiiM than complain about WiiM in the user forum.

Saying that, I agree that the forced firmware updates are not good. The updates may be needed when the phone app updates but it must be possible for the user to define when to install it. Mine installed in the middle of watching a movie on TV and although I didn't use the WiiM for TV sound it highjacked my TV sound as part of the update (all HDMI settings is off).

Agreed as in my case I don’t want new features it does what I want it to and has for a few months now 👍

Hi, I already opened a ticket, I hope they find the problem, but I also wanted to communicate this forced updates issue openly, it may help other users or at least they will know what is happening with their devices.

Have you tried reboot the device after the update? It’s been reported has a fine solution to many issues after update.
