BBC Radio BBC Sounds and those of us who don't live in the UK

Depends.... If you use the app it's per device, but I have created a config file via their website and uploaded that to my Asus router... That's network wide and it's a simple tick box to which devices use the VPN (see my picture above) or not..
That is probably one of the perks of the paid version.

Right, that’s how router-based VPNs work. Not all routers support VPNs though. My mesh LAN does not. I can use one per device, but not LAN-wide. I am happy with my LAN performance and I am not going to replace it, thus I can use a VPN on a device and play BBC Sounds on it but I will not be able to GoogleCast it to WiiM devices, as those would not be tunneled by a VPN… or maybe it works, we shall see.

I'm not sure it is or not tbh, can't see how.... Plus you need a router that supports it ...
Link, there is an openvpn config too but as I said sloppy code and makes the router work hard

It's not a router VPN as such, not many people are able to use that method.... The VPN app overrides DHCP lease.... Chromecast is probably the way forward, VPN client on phone/whatever stream to Wiim device...

Even the config generator is a "pro" feature, which I suppose means paid for.

There you go then I said I wasn't sure... The app works equally well never let me down.... The router config is just more convenient for me and my needs, network wide and turn off devices that don't need it...

I've used the free version 👍

10GB for life or per month?
I checked their website and it appears that ‘free’ is only a total of 10GBytes. So only a paid version would work long time, and that being the case there are many other options too. I would rather go with an App Store vetted app.

The free version refreshes the 10GB limit every month as far as I know.

Edit. Having said that mine hasn't been reset since April 12th so maybe the rules have changed.

They simply state 10GBytes and no time period - that to me means for life.

It must be 10GB monthly ( even though mine hasn't refreshed recently 🤔) as they also offer this

It should allow you to send the audio from your phone by Bluetooth as it’s not TCP/IP. Ok there will be a loss of SQ but BBC isn’t even CD quality anyway!

We know that. But the beauty of GoogleCast is to be hands-off.
