Beta Test: Audio Spectrum Display for WiiM Ultra

As this is my first time using beta firmware, do I have an opportunity to give my opinion on the positives or negatives of the feature being tested along with suggestions for possible improvements? If so, how to I actually do the above?

Thanks all...

From the wiim app, More (bottom right of main screen), Feedback.

Maybe WiiM reserves some headroom for more capable and more expensive ranges for the future. I would do so. Too much too cheap is economically silly. 😉

It’s been asked for since the Ultra came out and I suspect many, if not most users will use it as eye candy and not as a diagnostic tool.
But why implement it half instead of, in addition to the eye candy, make it useful? It is as if @WiiM Team has a habit of not follow though when implemting something. We have seen it with many of the other features, both for the app/screen but also when it comes to pure streaming functionality.

Maybe it is just me that is used to expect quality in software designs?

I think it’s clear that WiiM deliver features pretty much in stages - room correction is probably a prime example. And we are talking about a beta here…

It's not quite the same... RoomFit, subwoofer, etc. are "heavy" and difficult projects to implement (and aren't they beta?)....
VU meter-FFT is the basic tool used by all brands because it sells incredibly well... apparently without much difficulty..

Wiim seems to be stuck on these two topics for months , which is all the more surprising given how obviously important it is for business...

Nice Beta, here with some dying bass drum in the opening bars of Mahler 3. this recording is so dynamic that I play it full whack anyway. Must be possible to have it on input as well as output.
As others have alluded to it’s nice to look at but…
The bright baseline and fade to dark as things get louder is counterintuitive to me. And, yeah, as @canard notes below, a peak hold function would be a nice addition.

no residual “ peak mark”? (duration to be determined)

I tried this beta yesterday, and found as others have mentioned, that unless you have the volume quite high, there’s not much to see. It would be better if there was an option to select Original Signal, or Output Amplitude, as is available for the VU Meter.

Hopefully this can be addressed in the future, and then I will perhaps try it again.

i haven't noticed that until i read your comment and then..i switched back to VU meters (that weren't moving) and switched back and forth to "Original Signal" and they were moving again...so if I got this right, the new beta Spectrum analyzer switches to "Output Amplitude" display by default, and removes the option to switch between modes completely
