Ongoing Beta Beta Test: Qobuz Connect

DLNA cast is down to WiiM though. It was meant to be high priority to replace Airplay but is still not ready.
That really does not replace AirPlay. Apple will not add DLNA to their apps, I do not think. Other ways to add AirPlay on newer WiiM products exist.

Still waiting patiently for L/R room correction with subwoofer.
In the mean time, what do you think is the best approach? Turn off the bass management, run the left vs right room correction, record all the values, turn bass management back on, rerun the combined room correction with bass management, and then manually split the resulting EQ into L vs R and manually punch in the correction values above the crossover point from the run with bass management off?

I don't really know. My next experiment will be to use REW and modify the target curves below the crossover frequency to give a combined flat response. That will have to wait until after Christmas though. The problem with trying to combine measurements from the WiiM room correction is that it always uses all 10 filters, you can't reserve some for the subwoofer.

Yeah have to pick and choose.

Well, in my case, I sort of have 13 to work with, 3 mono and 10 L/R, because my subwoofer has a DSP with 3-band PEQ (SVS SB-3000), so I can set the room correction range to include the sub when including bass management, then take 3 from within the sub’s range and apply them in the sub’s DSP and rerun until WiiM deems nothing in the range of the sub needing adjustment, then I set the range for room correction up above the sub’s crossover point and turn off bass management and run LvR room correction to get the 10 bands there.

This beta isn't going to include the Mini at this time, but I believe all our other devices will work, including WiiM Edition A10 and C10
Are you at liberty to say whether multiroom will be supported/supportable in some way/shape/form?

I provided only one MAC address on the form, but I'd be happy to provide four. :giggle:

I would be, if I had the answer :) But I haven't had a chance to try it out. Usually these things work if you target the group coordinator, but I can't confirm that'll be the case here just yet.

Would be interesting to know if static named WiiM groups -- is that beta still open/ongoing? -- would work, as they do with Qobuz/Chromecast. That would make for a nice user experience, as well as the ability to add devices dynamically to an ongoing stream.

Hi Balthazar B,

We're excited to let you know that named WiiM groups and low-latency group delay for various inputs (Line In, TV, Optical In, Bluetooth, Phono In) are scheduled for release this month. Please stay tuned!

Warm regards,
WiiM Support

I signed up for the beta and now in the Qobuz app i can choose both my Wiim Pro's. There is sound, but the experience is very buggy. No way to control playback in the Qobuz app after starting an album. Possible to stop play only in Wiim app. Not workable at the moment.
Edit : Now the option to choose the Wiim devices are gone from the Qobuz app.

Nice! A question about the Qobuz Connect beta: do you know whether I'll need to be using the production release of the Qobuz app? I'm currently a beta tester for their Android app and will revert to the release version if necessary. Thanks!

No Mini. Sigh. Would be good to know if the phrase ’at this time’ means it is definitely or definitely not going to be incorporated in the future.

Odd that you even saw it in the first place, as Qobuz Connect beta software hasn't been sent out yet. Must have been an accident. The software will be available next week most likely.
