Change power cord to the Ultra

Guys, please give it a rest. This discussion, like all those of the past, will go nowhere and just detracts from the purpose of this forum.
I don't think you are right here. This forum is about getting the best music experience with the WiiMs. So discussing where to invest time and money, and where to not invest, is just as important as the other topics.

If you buy a power cord from a company with a return policy the only thing you waste is your time finding out if you can hear a difference or not.

It's true that in a forum everything is useful, but also wasting time with this nonsense is also a no go, please.

Cool, but let others judge for themselves, because we all have different hearing.
That ok. Just saying that that on the digital signal there can't be any difference. That is simply not possible. Not even if you somehow could introduce jitter in DAC by a bad power supply.

On the analog signal there may be introduced noise if you have a really bad setup. That was one of the issues we saw in the 1970's when trying to get good sound. That chapter is closed and the issue was never the power cable.

This 'discussion' reminds me of a Monty Python sketch

Here is an interesting article on the "placebo effect". It discusses that the effect can actually be a physiologically effect within the body, not just the result of positive thinking. I have no idea how this applies to audio, but it does raise an issue with the assumption that a person could not possibly "hear" a difference. A human being is an incredible complicated system, some of which is counterintuitive or at least not fully understood. Fascinating to think about.

So what you’re saying is: if the subject line read, “Change power cord to the Amp Ultra,” then there is a chance! 🤪

Assumptions, assumptions, assumptions...but the other way around is also true? («Damn, I can't hear it so it's surely a scam! ..or snake oil 😂») 😉
I think that just try and judge is a simpler solution, and of course "let others judge for themselves"
Life is good (and full of doubts) 😊

I personally found it lowered the noise floor in my system and I am using USB out to my chord 2qute DAC. For me it was the difference in clarity at lower volumes that I noticed most. I was actually considering new speakers before that as it just didn't sound great at low volume, but a year on I'm still happy with the cheap upgrade.

If it lowered the noise floor you can demonstrate that.

Significant improvement on my wiim ultra with audioquest z2. Yeah costs alot in comparison but if you want to squeeze everything out of it I would recommend.
How is that going to improve sound going from point a to point b? You made the cable company profit while they laugh at you for believing a snake oil. Audioholics put that claim to science by using audio precession and nothing showed on the test that it was better. Sure it has nice looking fancy cable. Nobody believe on such thing unless you have proof in test and report to back up your claim.

Believes versus facts.
