Energy Consumption

I have been using mine since April. I have had no issues at all. (I may have ordered another plugbank on black friday)🤣
Certainly on the plug version there is the energy monitoring version or the non energy monitoring model which is slightly cheaper, but not so much fun..😄
Below is the energy usage for my Ultra / Vibelink for November. 🤣

I know its a bit sad. 🤣🤣
Actually @slartibartfast it was you that put the idea in my head when you reported the power use for the Ultra, I had a look at power consumption meters and came across these plugs, so thanks to you 👍

What watt is Your Vibe doing during deep sleep?

Amp Ultra is around 3W. 🙂

Why is it more energy-efficient than Ultra? 🤔😂

Is there no (safety) ground on JP plugs/sockets?
Yes.
I can also buy a plug with grounding, but JP domestic sockets are 2-pin. There are dedicated 3-pin sockets for air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines.🙂

When the Ultra is on standby and the vibelink is on standby it's reporting between 10-11 watts including what the plug uses. I will need to wait until the vibelink goes in to deep sleep. I will let you know

I was rather surprised to hear you've set Charge Guard to 12W.

I shall try it too 🙂

Ah, I see. But what about the Vibelink, Amp Ultra and other Class I devices that expect/need a ground pin (3 prong)?

(BTW, I also have some Tapo plugs and Tapo lamps)

I should explain: I set the charge guard to 12 watts for 12 minutes as it gives me enough time to see if dinner is ready, have a quick chat to the other half and if dinner is going to be a while I can go back to my room and turn it back on again without waiting for the Ultra to reboot again 🤣🤣

The JP version of the WiiM power adapter includes an earth wire. This is connected to the speaker cable to provide an earth connection.

Ok @Wiimer the Ultra is in standby and the Vibelink is in deep sleep and the plug is reporting 5-6 watts including the power used by the plug itself.
I have removed the power lead from the ultra so now it's reporting as <1 watt including the plug. That's as accurate as I can be as I don't have any other way to test it. 😄
