Hey everyone!

At WiiM, we love getting your feedback to improve the product and our experiences. One of my goals is to revamp our community space, making it more useful and user-friendly for all. Before implementing changes, we'd love your input!

Exploring Ideas

We're considering a few ways to improve the community forums, such as:

  • Simplifying navigation for new and experienced members
  • Restructuring boards for better organization
  • Introducing tagging for advanced search capabilities
  • Updating the layout and design for enhanced functionality

But we want to hear from you! What do you think would make our community space more valuable and enjoyable?

Share Your Ideas

Take a minute to consider:
  • Board layout or organization improvements
  • Interface or user experience enhancements
  • Community activity suggestions
  • Favorite features from other forums you'd like us to adopt
  • Any other ideas!

Share Your Thoughts

Reply to this post or send me a DM. Your input will help shape our community's future!

The what are you listening to thread is in danger of becoming a big jumble of oversized images of obscure tracks. Post s should have some purpose, eg. Something that makes them unique, worthy of wider attention, etc. Maybe an anecdotes to accompany the post. Or artwork of distinction perhaps.

I would like to see a project manager assigned to beta testing. (Not us members, but the staff of WiiM.)

During the first week of beta testing, the support team visits here frequently, but then they dwindle and finally stop responding.

Beta testers are left alone and do not even know if the testing is still going on or if it has already been completed. Eventually a new official firmware comes out and I am left wondering if I should throw away the beta firmware.

As far as I can remember, this has always been the case. It would be nice if the project manager would always support us, keep in close contact and solve these problems.

Thank you.🤗

That would be great suggestions. When you’re in beta and new firmware comes out you will left behind with bug fix and added feature till you dropped out on beta. I believe the two new wiim member would be an excellent tester for all of us. They can devoted most of their time testing and report directly to wiim about the issue. I don’t think many of us want to be guinea pigs.

Exactly. I even asked WiiM if it was worth me staying on the beta for room correction with independent PEQ after the subwoofer was removed and didn't get a reply so I left the beta 😡

That's a great suggestion! And it's part of what I'll be doing, assisting the team with running the betas. I'm going to be wearing a lot of hats :)

The team here is very interested in getting more feedback from you all, it's just a small team and they don't always have the bandwidth to respond. We may go the route of surveys for some betas that can collect and aggregate information at larger scale vs forum posts that take a lot of manual time to read. Not to say we won't still be here (it's definitely where I'll be), just that it might be a good addition for the engineering team so they can see the feedback all together.

In part, that's what I was thinking behind the music board, a place where you could share a now playing, and talk about the music/album/artist.

I'm hesitant to start throwing rules on such a large thread, but if you have suggestions I'm all ears. I'd just be worried that adding rules means we then have to have a sheriff to enforce them, which can start taking a fun thread in the wrong direction fast.

Since you’re part of administrator, you could probably spend extensive time testing these betas. We have beta been sitting on docket like what @QuarryHunslet said for couple of months. The Dlna cast has gone silent. The independent peq rc was posted complete but wasn’t available in public. There are too many betas that hasn’t made it out of the gate for public release. I believe wiim is customer centric to satisfy their user base.

I would like to remove Profile posts from the forum altogether, as I can't see the point of them. People seem to be posting things such as requests for help with problems, etc,. That is what the forum is for, so they should post them in an existing thread, or start their own thread, This will get them much more visibility, and also will be much more likely to get them the help that they require. This information may also be helpful to other forum users. What do other forum users think about profile posts, and how often do you look at them?

I have no idea why they exist

I suddenly lost my interest in participating the forum when WiiM Ultra was released and many posts got censored. I believe that was the tipping point for many.

Good night! I agree with what Jed1 says. Sometimes the threads can get devious, but closing them intepestively seems a bit dictatorial.
On the other hand, in the Fosi forum there is an "Idea harvest" section that I found very interesting. They propose to the community to develop teams based on their own needs and then the users themselves can identify with one or another project, supporting or proposing modifications.
In turn, whoever manages to capture the attention of others would have benefits when purchasing the product.

Do they provide free firmware update that include feature like peq?

The reality is that for now I have only bought Fosi amplifiers. And I am really very satisfied (considering the price I paid for them). On the other hand, I have proposed the development of a streamer like the Ultra, but with some fewer features (such as the touch screen or the phono stage, which in my opinion do not add value, I reiterate: in my opinion) among other things that I would change without stop recognizing that it is an excellent product.

Most audio-related sites will have genre-specific music threads. As a primarily jazz listener, wading through the inevitable Pink Floyd discussions would bore me to tears, as I’m sure Jazz or Classical discussions would bore the headbangers here.

I can't speak to what went on then, it's a bit before my time as I joined WiiM just a couple weeks ago. My general stance on closing and deleting posts is on the lighter touch of things, but if something is clearly against the rules than we'll have to act. Mostly as long as discussions are civil and no one is being a jerk, we're cool.
