Feedback Needed! WiiM Ultra Screen Enhancements

Hi everyone! We're looking to make improvements to the functionality of the Ultra screen and add some uses for it and we want to know what you think! What if we changed up the current layout of icons on the scree widgets such as Current EQ, Presets, Recently Played, Radio, etc to also be able to do more things that you might otherwise go to the app for.

I'll include some ideas into a poll here, feel free to comment if there's more you'd want to add. Let's keep this to software, we're not talking about a new Ultra here

The following points would be nice to have on the Ultra display:

• A text only display with track meta data.
• A text only display with device information like current volume, input, output, sample rate, etc.
• The option to select VU meters from the screen by scrolling, as you currently have with the album art displays.
• The option to select a clock display while playing.
• The option of bigger fonts on meta data display.
• Volume knob increment settings (via WHA)

Yes. On of the bugs that needs to be fixed before starting implementation of new functions.

Mentioned back in June last year... ability to swipe left / right on the now playing screen to change tracks.
Also show / add / remove from favourites.

Once music is started, pretty much the only reason I have either the streaming app (e.g. tidal) or the WHA available is for these two tasks.
Yes, I know I could do the first one using the remote or with two taps on the screen, but that's so much effort!!

I've requested this numerous times before (through the app and on the forum), but we need the option for a plain black background in the full-screen artwork playback view.

Another improvement would be a way to choose which visualisation you see on a per input basis. For example: when streaming always show artwork. When listening to one of the analog/digital inputs: always show VU meter. When listening through HDMI ARC: show the static icon for the least amount of distraction.

And could you please do something about the toyish main menu/home screen which currently looks like a cheap AliExpress car radio unit?

Whatever is added… please make sure it’s code that is not running in the background if the user opts to turn the screen off. The concern here is to allow a screen off mode where only basic streaming is going on.

For many Ultra users the device is tens of feet away and the screen is unreadable.

A spectrum analyzer, if needed, should run on a separate device positioned at the listening position.

Much larger text on the display so those of us with the Ultra on their music rack across the room from the seating position (many/most of us?) can see the name of the track playing as well as the option to display time elapsed and/or time remaining.

At the moment the display is very pretty but also pretty useless to see any useful information unless we sit right up close to the music rack.

It has been discussed before and partly concluded that there is not enough CPU resources to run a useful analyzer.

As long as WiiM is not able to make a correctly working VU meter, I would not trust them to make a frequency display (spectrum analyzer) anyway.
