Overall I am happy with the WiiM pro. I originally bought it because I can get frequency correction while watching TV. The WiiM pro can do so much more that I'm amazed.
I get some of the same functionality with my subwoofer as with the SVS companion app. The subwoofer is an older model SB-2000, and therefore not the pro version and without the companion app.
The main speakers are older Genelec 8030A models. Those speakers are big/powerful enough for a room my size.
At first I had problems taking room measurements. The problems were because I didn't understand right from the start that I could only use mine oldest phone, the iPhone 7, to take measurements. It works just fine. Android phones didn't work that good.
The sound quality of the WiiM pro DAC chip, I've read that it wouldn't be that good. My intention has been to buy a better DAC to pair with the WiiM pro. But now that I've listened to the pro chip. It doesn't sound bad though. I think that I would need a DAC that has XLR connectors. Fosi ZD3 Balanced dac. However, the SVS sb-2000 only has rca inputs. (Not a big deal, i think). I'm not that much of a hi-fi fan though. However, a little bit and I like good sound.
I'll post some pictures here so you can see my setup and settings. The forum has been very helpful and I have been learning every day something new tricks by reading the forum.
For example, my setup sounds best when I do moving mic stereo calibration on an iPhone 7.
I think because Genelec has good imaging, and MMM doesn't mess with that imaging. The sound is three-dimensional, chrisp, and accurate.
