HDD safe removal

Is there a way to remove an external drive from USB port in a safe way as in Windows? In other words, what is the Best way to unplug an external drive from Ultra without damaging data?

This is normally not needed.

When only reading from the drive, it can just be removed at any time.

In the case WiiM is scanning the device (if new or if you started a rescan) you should just wait for it to complete writing its index file.
