HDMI ARC issues when using cable extension?

Have a Wiim Amp and happily been using it with my LG TV via HDMI ARC - works great.

After reconfiguing some furniture, the HDMI cable I've got no longer reaches, and replacing it with a longer one would mean a bit of a faff - so I bought this HDMI extension:

ARC does not work when using this extension (still works fine when connected directly. Is this something to be expected from using extensions in general? Or have I used the wrong type of cable? (sorry I'm pretty green in all this)

Does this cable support ARC, it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the description, although other similar alternative cables do mention ARC.

The HDMI ARC uses pin 14 in the cable, so this must be supported. Maybe try to measure if this is connected in the extension cable.
