HDMI problems.

My WiiM Ultra shows an unstable HDMI ARC behavior when connected to a Samsung QE85Q60BA (Q60B series, 2022) TV.

The device is correctly detected on the HDMI ARC port and the ARC handshake starts, but after a few seconds the TV disables ARC, shows an error message (“connect the device to the ARC HDMI port”), and switches audio back to the TV speakers.

The same HDMI port, cable, and TV work perfectly with a WiiM Amp Pro, indicating a device-specific compatibility issue between the Samsung Q60B firmware and HDMI ARC audio-only devices like the WiiM Ultra.

A factory reset of the WiiM Ultra temporarily restores ARC functionality, suggesting a persistent HDMI/ARC state or handshake incompatibility rather than a hardware fault.

should I return the unit or there is a possibility of fixing the problem? This is the message (in Italian) I get after a few days ofrom the tv. The ultra is already connected to the HDMI 2 port.

Without trying to discuss all the nasty details of ARC/CEC problems, the first thing you can and should do is sending feedback to WiiM directly through the WiiM Home App as soon as the problem occurs.

The feedback link is found on the "More..." tab, the rightmost on the bottom of the page. Device logs will be send along so WiiM staff and look at it and possibly identify the root cause.

I assume you are using the same HDMI cable with the Ultra and the Amp Pro? Do you remove the mains power from all devices before swapping out the Amp Pro for the Ultra and vice versa? You really should, it sometimes makes a difference.

But again, rather than having us shoot in the dark start with sending feedback to WiiM directly. You will receive an email notification containing your ticket number. Read that confirmation carefully. If you want to receive a personal reply in any case, the notification asks you to reply to it.

They usually answer my feedback messages within 24 hours.

Same cables, I used the WiiM amp pro for at least 6 months without any issue.

As I said the ultra works and then stops working, so I think is not a cable issue.

I sent the feedback, just wondering if some owner already solved the problem.
