Hi all, We're taking a poll to see what new music services you'd like to see integrated. Please fill out the form below to submit.

That's a very interesting statistic.

It may be difficult for WiiM to achieve high-resolution playback of Apple music.
If WiiM can support Airplay 1, lossless playback will be possible, which will be a compromise for many Apple music users.

Thank you, Good luck.😄
No need for hi-res. 24/48 lossless would be fine. But Apple might be updating to 24/96 in 2026. Time will tell.

Airplay 1 only support 44/16 and they offer music services that are high resolution loseless. What we need is Apple app inside wiim app. It’s like playing Blu-ray on tube tv.
Yep, it should be both! Airplay 1 and lossless built in. Airplay 1 to accommodate streaming from home server. Lossless for streaming Apple Music.

I guess I'll never understand why people would bother with Apple Music with so many better alternatives available.
There is only one better alternative: Qobuz. Tidal has financial (just laid off a bunch, again, probably out of business in a year or two) and technical issues. Spotify lossless and the company have a lot of issues (technical, moral). Amazon is the worst UI (and moral issues). Etc. Qobuz is the only other option. In my case, I am in too deep with Apple. I have it all figured out (they do not make it easy) and can play high resolution lossless easily but, 16/44 lossless Airplay v1 or 24/48 via Apple TV are all fine with me. Lysoniq in a pinch. Plus Apple Music has Classical, videos, live concerts, etc. Apple is by no means perfect but, when a bad business practice is shown to them, they take care of it. But Amazon or Spotify actively participate in bad things. So this leaves Apple and Qobuz as both the best paid streaming options for moral audiophiles. If Apple would just add a connect, a true connect, it would have more subscribers and less complaints.

Thanks, but trying to keep things as simple as possible for my other half. It's an Ultra and she uses an iPhone so forget Airplay. Any hints on how to make Chromecasting smoother on an iPhone gratefully received.
To be honest she's happy to use Bluetooth so we're not stuck.
Plug an old Airport Express v2 with firmware 7.6.9 (Airplay 1) into Ultra toslink. Set up Express using Airport Utility so it is just an Airplay speaker (no longer a router) on your existing network. It can be on it via wi-fi or ethernet.
Another option is if you have a WiiM with Airplay and link it. So she plays to the other one, say a Pro Plus in a bedroom or office, but it also plays on the Ultra.
