Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

I made another inquiry with AudioPro and got some additional information:

The WiiM Edition "got a completely updated system root. So it will have full functions with other Wiim devices.
It supports more streaming services etc."

They also assured me that LinkPlay support will be maintained for the vanilla AudioPro devices, so there should be no concern about the devices eventually failing to function as netorked LinkPlay devices.

Even if the difference is only firmware, I recognize that WiiM is under no obligation to facilitate a firmware upgrade to the products I purchased from AudioPro. However, it would be a nice gesture (if it is even possible), given that rapid pace of evolution in the WiiM/Linkplay landscape, and my investment no fewer than 4 WiiM Pro+ streamers. If I had known that WiiM would be formally adopting the pre-existing LinkPlay-compliant AudioPro hardware a mere month from my purchase date, I probably would have held off the purchase...
Did you contact AudioProa again? How... did you call them?
Do they still say they don,t know anything about the Wiim versions of their own speakers?
I know the support is from Wiim the Selling and support is via Wiim. On amazon.com you can,t see the Wiim versions in the audiopro store.
But again... if you contact them do they still say they don,t know anything about this? How do i have to interpret this then?

Thanks for you,re reply. So they know..as i assumed.
I wonder why the ,if, factor for these WIIM versions coming to the EU. We can only speculate..
As i read it it not certain they will be available in the EU.

I read it as a cautious reply to not specifically state they will be available in the EU and potentially fall foul of it later on, but as @Burnside alluded to above it'd surely be madness for it not to be available in the EU at some point.

The regular version is cheaper ,and you can buy asecond handed one. But if the Wiim version is available too ,one could assume customers would choose for the Wiim version. Think about het extra options..the regular updates from Wiim.
I woud rather certainly wait for the Wiim version and i think im not alone on this matter don,t you think so?
I,m very enthousiastic about Wiim so surely i will wait for the Wiim version.
But there is still the 'if, factor..will they be available in Europe...

100% speculation:
Maybe AudioPro and WiiM are negotiating an agreement given that the AudioPro WiiM Editions would be direct competition for AudioPro's main line of speakers in what is likely the company's (AudioPro) primary market. There is also likely some kind of licensing agreement already in place between AudioPro and LinkPlay for the AudioPro gear to use the existing LinkPlay modules they already have. I could see this resulting in the WiiM Editions being only available in certain markets, and limiting any hypothetical firmware flashes to convert one to the other.

Thanks for you,re look on things on this matter.
Then i,m going to even do some more speculation:
Could there be any possibility they would work together? Or is this a very strange question to ask?

WiiM and AudioPro work together? They clearly are.
You,re right but then one could mention there must be a way to overcome differences on what you were speculating about. Don,t you think so?

You could assume Wiim, Audiopro and custumors could profit together from this collaboration?
Then you could say the 'if' becomes a ,when, on (long term?) working together and the availability in the EU.
Don,t know if im saying things here that,s makes sense? I,m only speculating too.

Yeah, it's all a bit convoluted. I'm sure when I went looking for more info on the A10 Mkii, it was shown as discontinued, although maybe some sites are working their way thru existing stock. If all audio pro devices became WiiM Edition, then that clearly adds value to them that WiiM might want recompensed for, but that would still leave existing A10 users feeling left out as I guess reflashing their devices wouldn't be straightforward (if that's all that's different). A bit of a Pandora's box unfortunately :(

Look at reaction #233 from @RyanWithWiim .
Could there be a _long term?_ collaboration with Audiopro? Lots of speculation i know..hope its makes a little bit sense on what i,m speculating on.
But @RyanWithWiim says also to have no expectations..again im only speculating.

Seems pointless speculation to me. The WiiM edition will be on sale in EU if and when Wiim decide to make it available.
You,re absolutely right.
The team is still determining if or when they might be able to bring these to Europe.
We can speculate on the reasons why_ and maybe some are understandable speculations _but still the ony thing we can do is wait.
For me that means for now :I wont buy a regular Audiopro version( have the money available)..because you know maybe there will be the Wiim edition available in Europe.
If this isn,t clear yet i hold my money in my pocket.

Until a decision is reached sales of the standard Audio Pro will drop anyway if people are waiting for the WiiM version 😃

:D You,re right.
I mean.. even if the regular versions are cheaper and you can buy them second handed i assume most of the customers would wait for the Wiim edition.
I will, for sure..
But i don,t know if most the potential buyers know the Wiim version is coming..maybe coming that is.:D
Maybe audio pro is speculating most of the potential buyers don,t know at this point.

I would bet there is a plan to bring them to the EU sooner rather than later. I just installed a C10 WiiM edition in my wife's office and it came with 2 cables, 1 USA style 110v, 1 Type C (aka EuroPlug). Take from that what you will.

Thanks for you,r reply.
I wil wait if the 'if becomes a when..
