Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

Comment #10 suggests there are hardware differences too
That was a super vague response by WiiM. "Made for the WiiM OS." Like I said in an early comment, sounds like a firmware difference, enabling all the WiiM features like advanced eq, room correction, etc. The fact that AudioPro support is unaware of any different "version" only leads me to continue this belief.
I remain unconvinced and I'd like to know more because I shamelessly would like to convert my vanilla A10s to the WiiM firmware if possible, just to keep my whole fleet of devices aligned. I recognize that this likely can't or won't happen, and no drama if that's how it ultimately plays out, but until somebody explains why, I'm going to keep investigating it as a possibility.

I may have worded it wrong...

"I think AudioPro may not be involved in supporting the WiiM editions."

Sorry, English is very difficult for me.
I can understand what you are saying.. for me the same.. English not my native language.

So the WIIM edition is a diffent version.Hardware different ,and the software from WIIM in stead of Audio Pro OS.
I assume the 'regular' version wont connect to the WIIM app.
As you can see on the amazon site the speaker will pop up in the WIIM app if you want to connect is for the first time.

I can very well understand what you are saying.
I think they knew.. can,t you call them?
And will the , regular, or "older"version will have the wiim app also?
Look at the amazon site there you see the WIIM app recognizes the WIIM edition Audio pro speakers.
The 'regular' version won,t be recognized by the WIIM app that obvious i think.
RyanwithWIIM says in post #10 the hardware is different.

What’s vague about “There are some hardware differences separating the normal A10 MKIIs from the WiiM Editions”? Ok, they’ve haven’t said what those hardware differences are, but they have said there are some.
You are right there are differences.
If you have the 'normal' version one can test it now. The WIIM app wont recognize it.
If the hardware of the WIIM edition is different is is for a reason because of the WIIM software?
I assume the Audio Pro version will not get the update for connecting within the WIIM OS then. It will be within the Audiopro OS.

WIIM edition will get the support from Wiim.

As far as Amazon.us is concerned, the WiiM Edition is a product sold by WiiM, not by AudioPro. (The WiiM Edition does not exist in the official AudioPro store.)

So I wouldn't be surprised if the AudioPro support people didn't know about it (yet).

Needless to say, many companies only support the products they sell.
You are absolutely right.
Look it up on Amazon.com. In the audio pro store there is no WIIM edition. Its in the WIIM amazon store only.

https://www.amazon.com/stores/WiiMH...ef_=ast_bln&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandLogo_sto

Audio Pro amazon store:

https://www.amazon.com/stores/Audio...ef_=ast_bln&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandLogo_sto

So WIIM edition is sold by WIIM and all the support by WIIM.

But i think we all can conclude : Audiopro knows.. support of Audiopro had to know( my opinion).
Both can be proud.. WIIM choose quality..Audiopro the same. Hardware, software both very important.
Audiopro and WIIM a very good combination.

Both speakers run the WiiM OS. WiiM, pronounced "whim", is a wireless audio platform developed by contributors including Google and Harmon, and it's already been used to power some impressive hi-res audio streamers. As Audio Pro says in a comment that's absolutely not a reference to any rival maker of the best wireless speakers, "with the integration of WiiM OS [the speakers are] smarter than ever at a time when multiroom rivals have lost their streaming smarts".

Another question about the C10MKII has it sub out?
Has the ,normal, version this?
If the Wiim edition has one could control sub all within the app( high low pass filters, cross over).

From the Amazon site:
C10MKII

Audio Output : Sub output

Dont know if this is possible within such a small speaker and if necessary.
Or do they mean it has a big woofer?

Edit.
I did zoom in the c10mkII has a sub out.☺️👍
Normal version also.
You can control the sub with the WIIM version within the WIIM OS ofcourse.
Excellent 👌👌

Imagine a medium small Room, audio pro speaker, sub( second handed sub in combination with the C10)
Excellent sound , functionality for a very very good price.
Can place it everywhere ..wow.

WiiM Home app 100% recognizes the AudioPro hardware. Always has.

Ryan with Wiim says Wiim app with all the functionality.
That could be a difference.
Maybe it works with the Wiimpro app but not all the functionality in the audio pro version speakers.

Think about sub control, RC, or EQ..
Support then also available for the WIIM version not the Audio pro one.
Because not all the functionality available within Wiim OS.

Has it all the functionality then?
Still i hope someone can tell the exact difference from the audio pro version.
It has all the functionality that is built into the speaker and the software running on the speaker (firmware). As a Linkplay-compatible device it works with all other Linkplay devices and appears automatically in the WiiM Home app just like my WiiM Pro+'s. Linkplay = WiiM = Linkplay. What is lacks is the WiiM OS side that enables all the advanced features in the WiiM Home app like advanced eq. To be honest there is no meaningful deficit to my usage as A10 functions now. I am a little bit concerned about meaningful features that are in development (like persistent groups) and on ongoing updates that might limit that functionality if the update can't be shared to my A10s.

The WiiM home app might well show audio pro speakers, but won’t show all the features that WiiM devices do because audio pro’s firmware doesn’t have those features. Conversely, the Audio Pro app does see my WiiM Ultra but again doesn’t display all the Ultra can do as it doesn’t understand all the features the Ultra firmware has. The Audio Pro app and firmware are subsets of the WiiM app and firmware.

Thanks very much for this explanation.
I'll wait for the Wiim version
Looking forward to it.

Imagine a medium small Room,..de C10 maybe with a second handed sub.
A10 good for a smaller room.
Wow..for a excellent price great sound, functionality.
And all very mobile you can take it with you to someone else easily if you wanted. Or a different room.
You could do RC for those rooms and save the presets, you will have sub control and so on..😮😮👌👍
Excellent software, hardware what more can you ask for.

Hi all! In case there are still any questions around support, we (as in WiiM) will be supporting the WiiM Editions of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII through our app same as the other WiiM devices. This includes any hardware or software support that you might need, just contact our team!

While speakers with Linkplay functionality can be added to the WiiM app, as several folks in here have said, they don't always have all the same advanced features. We'll be bringing these features to the Audio Pro WiiM Edition speakers.

Can you link multiple Wiim A10 and C10 speakers into a group and have them all play in sync? What is the sample rate when doing that? That is the magic needed to replace Sonos.

How do the A10 and C10 sound compared to the Sonos Era 100 and 300, the obvious competition? Any experience?

That's one of my questions too..
Can you if you have the Wiim amp ,connect one of the audio pro wiim edition speakers to the app at the same time and play them at the same time?
If you watch a movie will there be any delay?
I think it would be nice to place the speaker at the back of my room when watching a movie.
