Jitter - should you worry about it?

This has been thrown back in response on the WiiM Fan Page on Facebook. I must admit I find Hans soporific and hard to follow, but the gist I take from his video is that Ethernet connections can introduce jitter but I don’t see where he demonstrates that impacts the audible spectrum. Or maybe I just don’t understand what he’s trying to say…

How can the forwarding of network data packages introduce jitter in the audio signal?
There is always jitter in the package delivery but that is taken care of by buffering and the audio data is re-clocked by the streamer.
The network connection do also include error detection and retransmission, so there are generally no errors in the data.

It looks like some misunderstood compare of network jitter and audio jitter.

Agreed. Buy your equipment. Play some music. Sit back. And mostly enjoy and relax. These last two things are so overlooked. But it’s a hobby I get it.
In a lot of cases, it is the Spending Flex and the Braggadocio that become the larger part of "the hobby"...
