Linear power supply

Thank you for remembering me. 😊😊😊

Ignoring 50Hz and 160Hz, GaN and linear power supplies look the same. 🤔

A special gift then, some samples captured on the Pro Plus powered by the stock charger vs a GaN charger. As always no hint which folder is for which charger.

Thank you for the wonderful gift.

I don't think I'll hear the difference, but I'll try tomorrow. I'm going to sleep with earplugs today. 😁

double measures displayed simultaneously can be really awkward...we can't really understand what's going on in red for example
this approach sometimes has its limits...
;-)
The same as in green except small differences which are visible because green is on top for the second graph.

You might just try it for yourself. Such as an Allo Shanti. Or borrow something...
Why do people sit in their armchairs giving their opinion without any expetience rather actually having done something practical to prove or disprove something. Well to the snake oilers I can tell you from actual experience that I connected a battery power bank to my WiiM Pro Plus and YES it makes a DEFINITE difference-even with its inbuilt electronics. I believe it supplies the current demand better than the wall socket. The sub bass is much tighter and on one track I use you experience the live recording as in the room. That softens and fades using the plug. I’ve stopped using the bank as it causes the WiiM to occasionally reboot. I’m about to upgrade to a Gustard X30 using the WiiM front end for Tidal Connect. So I ask myself do I still need a linear power supply for the WiiM Streamer alone or by a stand alone streamer. Expensive game this. Comments from those with experience and not armchair naysayers 😂

I've had excellent results with my Astron linear regulated ( bottom left ) powering the Fosi ZD3 DAC. I've also experienced audible improvements when using linear's with class d amps and tube preamps. Haven't tried one with a streamer yet but definitely will.
