Have to agree that none of these things are of interest for me. A few years ago we decided to go full MAC and ios in business and private. Everything is fine, but I got a stiff neck every time I hear such general bashing of Apple because of pure bias. So, play core as long as you want.
With good reason: Security. This is something Apple haters just don't get: Apple users like security and, what Apple does do for security, besides being reasonable and up to date, Android/Windows soon follows (if they can).Maybe something to remember in the future, don't buy apple products as they lock you into the eco system.

My iPhone is still up to date and is 10 years old. I've used Macs professionally for 40 years in creative, design, media, audio, film editing, and education. Most of this hate has always been nonsense, ignorance, and envy.when I read ipods read you need itunes to sync interest, I knew I'd never buy one. I can still use my Mp3 players on new OS, where they will be end of life on apple mac.
I understand the issue with streamers, it's not a self contained unit, ideally they should have server software built in, as you might need a two or three box solution
Audio streamer
Server
Storage
You can have pi as all three
Wiim can be all three as well but doesn't do it as good as a dedicated solution
Some streamers like Eversolo have space for NVME, that's fine but it's still not high enough capacity. PLus I have no idea how good or bad the server side is
I'm using Wiim Ultra, a NAS (for storage) and pi5 for server. I'm happy with what I have. Price wise, storage capacity/expansion, and server side was afffordable, plus server software and app is free, multi platform and open source. I've gone PC, NAS, another NAS, to Pi for server, still using the same streamer from 20 years ago, which is still supported in firmware updates and server support.
If that was apple, it would have been in landfill 10 years ago.

I am replacing my iPhone this year, simply because, I want a faster device but the old one will become a streamer for my AV system using Lysoniq. Lasting, likely, another decade at least, in that role. Apple is far from perfect and lays an egg every few years (OS 26 sucks IMO) but, it just works.
Yes. All the time.Just works eh?
Can you get music streaming from your Apple Mac to a non apple device?![]()
Yes. All the time.
I agree!Since the original question has been answered correctly (more or less from the start) I don't see the need to discuss further off-topic stuff here.
