New Roadmap

The management of positive gains and the possibility of saturation due to subject processing, autogain associated with roomfit/peq/gec (necessary since 2022 and the first gec)...still not there?
The presence of DRC mode to camouflage this (which renders any use of a VU meter obsolete), is this still not disabling?
Any visibility on its engagement "with a truepeak overload"?
To allow for an assessment of the necessity and need to reduce the level...
A fixed 3dB reduction as a precaution to provide margin for the ISPs?
Don't fool yourself, a very large majority of what you listen to is more than just flirting with zero and above...already without signal processing!
so these are real issues...
As you mention yourself, most of your demands have been adressed as a manual work around - so no big deal as it works.

Except that I have precise measurement and observation tools at my disposal to estimate it... and let's just say I'm a bit more of an expert than average...

Furthermore, the presence of a DRC completely distorts the way one understands the use of a VU meter, for example, and therefore leads to misinterpretations, etc.

All these software designers and correction specialists who include an auto-gain feature are truly idiotic when all you need to do is tweak the level...

But you're right... a pretty, wiggling fft... that's more important...

So, indeed, it's not a problem for me... Have fun
;-)

Input Specific Screens definitely speaks to me, so hoping this appears sooner rather than later.

If you don't explain what DRC and ISP mean it is not really "lay language"
In fact I know what DRC means.
But I fail to understand where this is an issue with the WiiM. Nor do I understand the supposed auto-gain issue.
Sorry, I‘m just dumb.

He just wants an automatic reduction in gain to avoid potential clipping when positive EQ is used and for cases where inter sample peaks are an issue. At the moment WiiM use Dynamic Range Compression when the signal approaches 0dB to make clipping sound less horrible.

I remember requesting custom icons for custom pre-sets, and that being looked into.

It now seems to have disappeared, which is a shame.

That would appear to be a very obvious issues, and you'd think an easy one to fix.

Eventually this could result in very low gain like people are experiencing on NAD gear with DIRAC.
Oh well, what do I care, I‘m not using it anyway.

As long as all of these new features can be disabled for those of us who don’t want, or need them. 🤔

You already could as far as I’m aware, this is suggesting “high resolution”. Given that I understand the Ultra’s Google Cast may still be limited to 24/48, I’m not sure though how high “high resolution” will now be
Just briefly checked out casting from Qobuz to a WiiM edition Audio Pro A10 and Pro Plus in a Google Home/ Chromecast group and got 24/96 as suspected (a Qobuz chromecast limit). However I wasn't expecting that adding my Ultra to that group would also get 24/96 which was a pleasant surprise. So not sure what the enhancement is offering given I seem to already have high-resolution for a chromecast group...

Yes we can already set up multi-room audio between WiiM devices and other Google cast enabled speakers from inside the Google Home app, but only when streaming audio from a Chromecast compatible app.

However, if we're able to set up groups with Google cast endpoints inside the WiiM home app, using the WiiM device as the audio source, this would probably mean we'll be able to cast other digital/analog sources from the WiiM (like a turntable) to Google Home speakers
Not how I read it, and if what you suggest is what WiiM mean, I'd guess they would have announced that as a Google Cast(ing) feature akin to DLNA Cast

What I'm most curious about is whether this feature is intended for the Sub Pro or for all wired subwoofers.

(I think it's the former for now but) If it's the latter, how do connect 2 subs to the Ultra?

I'm also wondering if this might hint that the next-generation WiiM device will feature 2 sub outputs 🤔
