New to Wiim (Wiim amp ultra) and loving it!

I don't understand what you are saying but any computer (preferably small and silent) like a Mac mini is the "best" streamer there is. Always up-to-date and anything (apps, websites) that can play any sound will do that just fine. In combination with a tv it will also "unlock" any video service.
I was guided by my intention to reduce my equipment to the bare essentials.

An all-in-one device like the WAU was just what I needed, so I bought it "blind".

Wiim Am Ultra and Mono Amps for the bass cabinet and done...

On reflection, it seems to be incompatible on several levels. No problem... the WAU will just move on and I'll look elsewhere. Mac Mini 2015 exchanged for a Mac Mini 2025 and everything is back to normal.

No more and no less.

Thanks for your response. Yes, but I was going by this comment as well.

I have no experience with WiiM yet, so just being cautious.
Don't let people confuse you. :)

As @Mr Ee wrote all this doesn't even apply if you're running a music server on your NAS. You will not (and cannot) and don't have connect a NAS to the USB port of a WiiM Amp Ultra.

Just for fun, I keep a copy of most of my library on a 1 TB USB thumb drive. Around 13.000 tracks, almost exclusively FLAC. My WiiM Amp Ultra has no problems scanning, indexing and organising the contents of this memory stick. I don't really need it, my music resides on my NAS. I just keep it as a reference of what's working flawlessly.

Concerning, as I plan to buy a WiiM Amp Ultra. Anyone else seeing this? I'll be using a NAS with DLNA.
Don't know about the issue. But, just wanted to pass along a tip that might be relevant. Wiim has built-in support for plex as a media source. I tried it, and in my setup it is much faster than jriver via dlna and feels more integrated. I installed the free plex server on a windows pc that I use as a home server.
