Optical input bit rate sensing

Hello All,

Is there any way that the WiiM App software could be set to indicate and display the bit rate/resolution of signals coming through the optical input similar to the way the bit rate is displayed when using a streaming provider like Tidal or with AirPlay?

I think that depends on whether the stream headers have that info, which is not always the case and why for a while it showed 16 bit but now shows 24 bit (or vice versa).

Thanks for your reply. Would the information in the optical signal not be there regardless seeing as how my Dac can detect what information/bitrate is coming from my CD player or digital source via optical or coax input? I am assuming though that the optical input of the Pro/Pro Plus operates the same way as a Dac.
